		<description>The one correction that&#039;s been pointed out to me is that most gun shows in Texas now prohibit concealed carry for the same reason that the military does not allow soldiers to carry - fear that &quot;something bad might happen&quot;.  Something bad *did* happen and 13 people died. The only incidents in which active shooters have been stopped early in their actions all involved off duty officers and armed citizens.

I received a copy of an email sent by a soldier who was present during the shooting -- an after action report of what he saw and did.  The two lines that struck me as most important were &quot;She&#039;s bleeding profusely out of her thigh.  We take our belts off and tourniquet her just like we&#039;ve been trained&quot; and &quot;I&#039;ve been trained how to respond  to gunfire...but with my own weapon.  To have no weapon I don&#039;t know how to explain what that felt like.&quot;</description>
