American forces were comprehensively better equipped and better trained than their opponents, and enjoyed unquestioned air superiority, but Schwarzkopf&#8217;s plan for liberating Kuwait, including the &#8220;left hook&#8221; into Iraq, was cleverly conceived and well-executed. If George H. W.
