No. And No.

Former Vice President Mike Pence is evidently getting into the 2024 Presidential race next week.

So evidently is former New Jersey Chris Christie.

No. And no.

Both men had their time in the sun, and neither’s time extends to 2024. Pence’s was 2016, when he provided a dull, predictable counterweight to Trump’s wild ride. Christie’s was 2009-2010, when his unexpected election as governor of deep blue New Jersey gave him a high profile platform to criticize the Obama Administration’s many unpopular policy failures.

Neither has a prayer of beating Ron DeSantis or Donald Trump for the Republican nomination in 2024.

Pence combines the dynamic personal charisma of Jeb Bush with the national electoral chances of Jeb Bush.

This meme still cracks me up.

Christie combines the personal likeability of J. Edgar Hoover with the weight of a second J. Edgar Hoover.

As long as we’re memeing…

And Christie has no excuse running again, having already run a dismal 2016 campaign that earned him exactly zero delegates (one less than Carly Florina).

All these political coelacanths are going to do is prevent the anti-Trump vote from consolidating around DeSantis.

Both should give up on their quixotic campaigns and retire to the cushy corporate board and college President circuit.

I think Chris Christie should run. Not for office, I mean, just in general.

  2. Andy Marksyst says:

Remember when presidential primaries weren’t a dystopian clown show with opportunists playing real politik with their voters?

    Pepperidge farm remembers.

  3. Leland says:

I don’t even think they’ll divert votes away from DeSantis. I only see Pence making it past the first primary. Pence will attract anti-Trump votes but most of them will be the kind that wouldn’t vote for DeSantis either. At best, Pence will be the 2024 John Kasich.

  4. Average Joe Bruh says:

Pence and Chrispy Cream Christie have no chance of winning they are just there to attack Trump and try to weaken him. Thier 30 pieces of silver will be in the form of book deals and paid appearances on NSNBC and CNN….

  5. Dwight Brown says:

” former New Jersey Chris Christie”

So he’s lost some weight? Is he now closer to “current Rhode Island Chris Christie”?

Obligatory: Chris Christie was for gun control before he was against it.

  6. Mick McMick says:

Hey, Pence! The DEBATE FLY called. He’s moving on. He wants to land on something more useful like manure.

    I’m Still Important!!”

We’ve reached past the world of has-been into the world of never-was-gonna-be.

  8. Cliff says:

I’d vote for Dan Quayle before Mike Pence

  9. John Oh says:

Chris Christie’s time was 2012. He would have been a formidable candidate against Romney. Probably thought he could avoid Romney and his money and run in 2016. But by 2016 the political landscape had changed a lot, Christie was no longer a fresh and exciting possibility and he failed completely. There is a karma to all this and Christie missed his moment. This is one reason I’m glad DeSantis didn’t listen to all the allegedly wise men in the party advising to wait his turn. DeSantis’s turn may still come even if he loses to Trump, but if he doesn’t run now be may be the Christie.

  10. JG says:

They are entering the race backed by donors to try to take support away from Trump in the primary’s debate. All of these people running except for DeSantis have little chance and are there to hurt Trump as they are backed by Globalist donors. DeSantis is also backed by Globalist donors but Trump has a huge lead.

  11. James says:

All the Trump bootlickers are trying to say that people are running to spite Trump. Its an absurd claim. It helps Trump by splitting the anti-Trump vote.

  12. Mark says:

Lets not forget Pence decided to NOT get involved in the Stolen Election of 2020.

    Farghing RINO Icehole.
