  • Update: Voting for my suburban Wilco district seamed pretty heavy; the parking lot at the local rec center was full and there was a short line to vote, despite my getting there around 3:45 PM. If you haven’t voted already, you might want to head out a little early…

Spain’s Agencia EFE (fourth largest news agency worldwide, like our AP) reported Sunday that 3 in 10 “irregular migrants” arriving at the southern Mexican border have tested positive for syphilis, according to the NGO Brigada Callejera en Apoyo Elisa Martínez. Since these “irregular migrants” are all headed to the United States – and we have acute shortages of effective antibiotics – you can expect a syphilis epidemic here, soon.

      You Texans ready for this?

    2. Flt93_Militia says:

Being in Travis county, I voted in the Dem primary AGAINST our Soros DA.

Looks like Phelan and Covey coming down to the wire.

Update on the contested races with an incumbent who might become a former incumbent:
District 11: Travis Clardy: Getting hammered 63-37
District 18: Ernest Bailes: Losing to Holt 51-42
District 19: Ellen Troxclair: 2000 vote margin in EV, down to 1600, but still up 51-44
District 21: Dade Phalen: Lost early voting by 300+ votes, currently trailing by under 300 votes. Was leading previous update, so I’m hopeful
District 26: Jacey Jetton: Getting crushed 55-39
      District 33: Justin Holland: Pierson up 39.51 to 38.6 (9,038 – 8,829)
District 44: John Kuempel: Losing 6,157 – 5,875 in early voting, no ED vote totals up
District 55: Hugh Shine: Losing 50.2 – 43.5 in early voting, no EDay votes up
District 58: DeWayne Burns: Losing 48.8-42
      District 60: Glenn Rogers: getting crushed 62.6 – 38.4
District 61: Frederick Frazier: losing 38.5-32.5
District 62: Reggie Smith: Losing 53-47
District 64: Lynn Stucky: Losing by 73 votes in EV, nothing ED yet
District 65: Kronda Thimesch: Up 430 votes in EV, nothing ED
District 108: Morgan Meyer: Only up 5,797 – 5,508 in EV, no ED
District 121: Steve Allison: Losing 54.5-38.7

So how many of these scum bags have to lose to flip the Leg to “actually GOP”?
      District 21: Dade Phalen:
      Last Updated Time
      Mar 05, 2024 11:09:27
      DAVID COVEY REP 9,970 15,579 46.31%
      DADE PHELAN (I) REP 9,634 14,547 43.24%

So now down by 1,000 votes

      This would be seriously awesome
      Update on 21 and Dade:

    5. Greg the Class Traitor says:

The District 21 numbers are with all precincts reporting.

So Dad’s down 1,032 votes, with only late arriving mail in ballots to go.

What are the TX rules on that?

And WTF was Rick Perry doing campaigning with Dade? I thought Rick was a decent human being?

    6. Greg the Class Traitor says:

District 33: Justin Holland: Pierson up 39.5 to 38.7 (9,631 – 9,434) (Holland is 12 votes closer, which isn’t going to do the trick :-) )
District 61: Frederick Frazier: losing 38.7-32.6
District 64: Lynn Stucky: Getting hammered in ED voting, it’s now 48.2-41.2, a 1,500 vote gap

    7. Greg the Class Traitor says:

Ah, bummer. So it takes 50%+1 or else there’s a runoff

So Dade’s going to a runoff

    8. CayleyGraph says:

Well, I would go vote in the Texas primary, but it’s such a hassle for me, since I live in Ohio.

Which is probably a better reason for me not to vote in the Texas primary anyway.
