I’m sure howls of outrage about the firing from those on the left who condemned Bush for not “listening to the generals” will happen any minute now. (Checks watch) Yep, any minute now…
After last year’s championship riots, you would think that the Los Angeles Police Department would have learned a thing or two. They did, but not enough.
This is a bad decision that will cause them to lose members. You don’t knife your friends in the back to make deals with your enemies, and you don’t make deals with the butcher to stand aside while he slaughters the other animals in exchange for being eaten last. And as long as Pelosi is Speaker, “pro-gun Democrats” can only be considered as pro-2nd Amendment as Bart Stupak was pro-life, i.e. right up to the point that it becomes a choice between their “principles” and the dictates of the Democratic leadership, and then their principles can be bought off with a empty promise.
Members should still contact the NRA at all levels to know this is unacceptable. You can also call them at 1-800-672-3888, or use the NRA PVF fund form.
Today the University of California at Irvine announced they were apologizing to 11 members of an Islamic student group arrested for interrupting the Israeli Ambassador’s speech for “violating their civil rights.” Or at least that’s the sort of headline you’ve come to expect out of both the People’s Republic of California and the University of Political Correctness.
You’re a congressman walking down the street when a student asks if you support the Obama agenda. Do you: C.) Bat his camera aside, grab his wrist, demand to know his name, and refuse to let go?
I though the student showed great restraint in not kicking him in the nuts, which he would have been legally justified in doing when Congressman Etheridge refused to let go.
It must be hard for the New York City teacher’s union, the United Federation of Teachers, to make ends meet, what with the $183,603 per year they have to pay for office space. That is to say, their office space in Boca Raton, Florida.
When you’re Barack Obama, and Maureen Dowd (of all people) says that Joe Biden (of all people) has better relations with the press than you do, you may have a problem. Also this about Obama: “he is an elitist, too, as well as thin-skinned and controlling.” However, I’m not buying Dowd’s attempts to defuse the “media as Obama worshipers” problem: “The press traveling with Obama on the campaign never had a lovey-dovey relationship with him. He treated us with aloof correctness, and occasional spurts of irritation.” However, if that was the case, I don’t recall seeing a single report from the mainstream media in all of 2008 that mentioned it, which rather confirms the idea that the media buried any negative reporting during the campaign because of ideological solidarity and wanting him to win, doesn’t it?
