Let’s review this causal chain of events:
- Senate Democrats, lead by Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, keep blocking a continuing resolution that would reopen large swathes of the federal government because they insist on continuing ObamaCare subsidies for illegal aliens. To this end, they’ve voted to keep the government shut down thirteen times. Republicans all voted to reopen the government, as well as “Democratic Sens. Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada and John Fetterman of Pennsylvania” and “Independent Sen. Angus King, who caucuses with Democrats.” That makes the Republican bill to reopen the government the bipartisan bill.
- On November 1st (also known as “this Saturday”), 40 million people will lose Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits (AKA “food stamps,” though now they’re handled on Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards).
- In response to Democratic senators keeping the part of the government that supplies them with free food shut down, several Democrats on Tik-Tok, many visible obese, are threatening to loot grocery stores. Like the many businesses burned down during the #BlackLivesMatter/#Antifa riots of 2020, the businesses so looted would no doubt be stores in deep blue areas of deep blue cities, meaning the people they would overwhelmingly be harming would likely be other Democrats. (Or people too apathetic to vote. Or non-voting felons.)
Now, I am making the assumption that the people pledging to commit crimes to support their perceived absolute right to free stuff from American taxpayers are, in fact, Democrats. There may indeed be a few down-on-their-luck Republicans impacted by the lingering effects of the Biden Recession that have had to rely on government handouts to feed their children, but they don’t seem like the type threatening to break the law. I’m also assuming those would-be looters are not Libertarians, as none of them strike me as the sort to have Milton Friedman books in their apartments.
(They’re not the only overwhelmingly Democrat constituency hurt by the shutdown. The American Federation of Government Employees, which represents over 800,000 government workers, has also called for an end to the shutdown and a vote in favor of a clean continuing resolution.)
So unless Republicans give in on subsidizing illegal aliens, Democrats will continue to hurt Democratic voters by refusing to let the federal government subsidize food for Democrats.
Hell of a plan there, Chuck.
But it’s clear that the crazy Tik-Tokers will be getting free food one way or another. if they carry through on their threats, many of them might be getting fed via their three hots and a cot down at the local hoosegow…

Once the Democrats loot the grocery stores in the deepest Democratic neighborhoods in the Democratic cities next week, those grocery stores will close. Then we’ll hear whinging about the food deserts in the deepest Democratic neighborhoods in the Democratic cities.
This will inspire Zohran to open, using large amounts of taxpayer dollars, government-owned grocery stores in the deepest Democratic neighborhoods in the Democratic cities, whereupon both organized (Democratic government officials) and unorganized (Democrats voters in the these neighborhoods) looting will occur, stripping the stores like locusts. No criticism will be offered by the Democratic press of the Democratic officials, and certainly not of Zohran, as none will wish to insult the new Dear Leader. Instead, we’ll pour more taxpayer dollars into the government-owned grocery stores in the deepest Democratic neighborhoods in the Democratic cities.
Democratic government officials will offer their shares of the boodle to their ‘friends and family’ networks, after, of course, tithing to the campaign committees of those above them. This will ensure that the Democratic government officials in the deepest Democratic neighborhoods in the Democratic cities win election and preserve their sinecures, who will then extend their benevolent thanks and loyalty to all those who helped grab up the boodle.
Democratic controlled NGOs will consult and offer guidance to the Democrats in charge of the government-owned grocery stores in the deepest Democratic neighborhoods in the Democratic cities — not to make them work, don’t be silly, but to ensure that the campaign committees and NGO payrolls are properly funded with the boodle, so that the NGO employees can volunteer to work for the campaign committees of the Democratic government officials in the deepest Democratic neighborhoods in the Democratic cities.
The Democratic government officials in the deepest Democratic neighborhoods in the Democratic cities will simply need to ensure that the state attorney generals, who are of course Democrats with campaign committees and a keen, clear sense of the carving of the boodle, don’t come after them, which will be facilitated by said carving. The fly in the ointment is Ms. Bondi at the DOJ, but she can’t last forever, and once a Democrat of significant popularity wins the Presidency in 2028 (failing that, a Democrat with hairgel), all such concerns will vanish. Thereafter the Democratic government officials in the deepest Democratic neighborhoods in the Democratic cities will glory and pay homage to the Dear Leader.
And the cities will rot and fall into ruin. But that’s not a problem, so long as the boodle continues to flow.
Doubtless the mainstream media will run sob stories about starving children 24-7 to paint the Trump Administration in the worse possible light, which will sway low information voters. This is what the Dems are counting on.

You remember all the stereotypes liberals boohoo whined-and-cried weren’t true? That they were XYZ dog whistles? That being poor – and especially staying poor – were effects of larger macroeconomic forces beyond the control of their poor, set-upon voter instead of the character flaws, impulsivity problems and entitlement complexes the size of Mars everyone said they were decade after decade.
All lies. I’m as shocked as you are. More shocking still is they’re literally unmasking themselves now and then have the gall to tell you “ackshually, that’s a good thing!”
Cancel everything. No more perks for narcissists. Tear the whole thing down and invoke a a weapon’s grade temper tantrum so we can start ventilating dead weight holding us back since Kennedy made his moonshot speech.

Some of us live in a “you loot, we shoot” area, so not everybody will be on track for 3 hots and a cot. Fortunately, these same areas often generously donate to food banks that will happily feed you, so long as you ask nicely. If you walk in demanding what is yours, then you’ll get exactly what is yours.
Stupid little neighborhood pantries in my town, boxes on posts, that people fill with food. There’s one homeless guy who is, according to discussion, creepy and inappropriate towards women and girls. He avoids even eye contact with men. He is the only person I’ve ever seen “shopping” at those. He walks by almost every day with a bag full of groceries. I’m tempted to tear it down, but it doesn’t belong to me. Not sure who it belongs to since it’s on public property.
There are two terms that I’m sure many have heard but resonate more and more with every passing year: “pathological altruism” and “suicidal empathy”. They perfectly analogize what we’ve become.
Public assistance was never intended to be permanent. Empathy for misfortune was never intended to be a suicide pact with the unfortunate. The cultural expectation to help those in need – and that we enshrined in law – was intended to help move those that needed it to a place where they needed it no longer.
We’re long long past this. This isn’t even malfeasance at this point, just straight up theft. Not only is American kindness regarded as weakness by those that receive it, they’ve worked effectively to enshrine that weakness into legal entitlements.
This will stop. It will stop either because the tax sheep finally get sick of being fleeced as some sort of penance they never signed up for and don’t deserve, which is manifesting, or because it bankrupts the nation. But stop it will. I’m with other commenters, leave it turned off. I want to see what happens, and I’m fine with the potential consequences. Let the thieves provide the compelling justification we’ve all waited for, and righteously deserve.

Why risk being arrested for looting when you can take your shopping cart full of food through the self-checkout at Walmart or Target and pay nothing?
Stop feeding and giving them everything, and maybe they will go home.
