Gutfeld Reviews The Democratic Debate

Saturday, February 22nd, 2020

There will be more of this in the Clown Car Update (sometime Monday, though possibly late, because my Sunday is packed), but here’s The Five reviewing Michael Bloomberg’s debate performance.

Summary: Not good!

“He burned half a billion dollars on that debate stage last night!”

And when Geraldo Rivera says your performance is “horrifying,” you know you’ve screwed up pretty badly…

.50 BMG MK211 Raufoss Round vs.

Tuesday, February 11th, 2020

A rifle firing .50 BMG is the highest caliber weapon you can own without a special permit. The MK211 Raufoss is a heavy-core/explosive/incendiary .50 BMG round usually employed for anti-matériel and long-range sniping purposes. I was unabale to find any for sale online, but in one of the videos, he said they typically go for $65 a round.

What happens when this round reaches out and touches something?

Bad things for the recipient. Let’s take a look.

.50 BMG MK211 Raufoss Round vs. Hummer window glass and a ballistic gel dummy head (which is a cool thing and and of itself):

.50 BMG MK211 Raufoss Round vs. a quarter-inch steel plate mounted to a van:

.50 BMG MK211 Raufoss Round vs. a tactical dummy:

.50 BMG MK211 Raufoss Round (plus various armor piercing rounds and a SLAP round) vs. 3 inches of steel plates:

The Raufoss round starts about 4 minutes into the video, whereas the SLAP round starts around 5 minutes in.

And finally, a .50 BMG MK211 Raufoss Round vs. a running V8 engine:

That’s really going to ruin your gas mileage….

Rush Limbaugh on Receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom

Saturday, February 8th, 2020

Here’s Rush Limbaugh describing what it was like to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom from President Donald trump:

The first seven minutes or so of the show are about his cancer diagnoses, the rest about receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom. The clip displays how, after all these years, Rush remains an eminently listenable performer.

Don’t know how I missed this in November, but let’s correct that oversight:

Don’t Lean On Me Man If You Can’t Afford A Ticket Back From Chlamydia City

Thursday, January 16th, 2020

The new venereal disease rankings are here! The new venereal disease rankings are here!

Who came in number 1?

Guess!

Baltimore has the highest rate of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the US, according to government statistics.

Data has revealed the Maryland city has 2,004 STI cases per 100,000 people, with chlamydia the most common infection.

That means two out of every 100 Baltimore residents have some form of the clap.

Honestly, this is just an excuse to post this hilarious Craig Freguson interview (actually two interviews) with Robin Williams:

The Chlamydia bit starts about 21 minutes in, but do yourself a favor and watch the whole thing.

I would embed the Saturday Night LiveJosh Ramsey: V.D. Caseworker” skit with Bill Murray (“God, it hurts when I pee!”), but it doesn’t appear to be anywhere online…

(Remind me again which political party has controlled Baltimore since 1967…)

Huge Protests In Iran

Sunday, January 12th, 2020

Protests across Iran continue after the Islamic Republic government admitted their forces shot down a Ukrainian passenger jet. Protestors demand the resignation of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Iranian government has once again called out the riot police, and even arrested British ambassador Rob Macaire in “flagrant violation of international law.” (He’s since been released.)

President Donald Trump has tweeted out his support for the protestors, in both English and Farsi:

Protests continue. This is a tweet showing the crowds that came up on a Twitter search literally seconds ago as I finish up this post:

Bonus: Greg Gutfeld on our gutless media siding with Iran over the Suleimani strike:

Democrats seem determined to be on the wrong side of history.

Iran’s Retaliation: A Big Nothingburger

Thursday, January 9th, 2020

I believe this is YouTube/Twitter personality Sargon of Akkad (though this is a different YouTube channel from his main one) on the big nothingness of Iran’s retaliation:

“It looks like the Iranian regime is actually so impotent they couldn’t kill a single American.”

“This was just the yappy dog, yapping.”

Happy New Year!

Wednesday, January 1st, 2020

Another year in the history books! And with a presidential election looming, expect the Trump Derangement Syndrome that was already turned up to 11 to go to 13, or break off the volume knob entirely.

To celebrate the occasion, here’s Colin Furze setting off a giant firework pendulum:

Here’s to a great 2020!

The Pitch Meeting for Cats

Sunday, December 29th, 2019

Is this lazy blogging?

Yes. Yes it is.

But between cleaning up for a New Year’s Eve gathering, a possible dog adoption, and cuing up Monday’s Clown Car Update, the weekend is just packed! Plus Cats is going to disappear from theaters so quickly that I need to get that jab in while it’s at least semi-relevant…

Jonathan Pie on the Labour Wipeout

Saturday, December 28th, 2019

After linking to this Jonathan Pie video on Trump’s election in my Wokeness vs. the Working Class post, it occurred to me that he had probably done a video on the most recent UK election, and indeed he had:

As always, Pie’s shtick is a left-leaning reporter who nonetheless calls out his fellow lefties on their obtuse blindness in their own narrow, insular view of the world. Some quotes:

  • “How could we possibly have lost? Everyone I know voted the same way I did!”
  • “‘How could that be? Everyone I know spent election day same as me: Posting amusing pro-Labour memes on Instagram, and spending the preceding six weeks calling anyone who voted Leave, or was thinking of voting Tory, thick as shit! How could we possibly have lost?’ Once again, the strategy of calling everyone who was thinking of voting differently to me self-serving, inward looking, stupid, racist, Leave-voting scum, paid absolute dividends, didn’t it?”
  • “When are we going to get it into our thick skulls that the country voted to leave the European Union? Twice now!”
  • “Refusing to talk to people you disagree with whilst assuming the motives behind their voting decision is a recipe for disaster!”
  • And the real money quote that can’t be repeated too many times:

“When will we learn that the real world is not on your Facebook feed?”

About 3:15 in starts he repeating various talking Labour cliches rather than dissecting them, but it’s still worth watching.
