A while back I wondered if Australians had finally had enough of their government oppressing them.
The answer seems to be “evidently not,” as they now want to jail a mail for holding a blank sign outside the Chinese Consulate.
As a matter of principle I have decided I will peacefully surrender to the Brisbane court on August 6 and accept prison time for contempt of court.
I will go to jail in Australia for the crime of holding a blank sign outside the Chinese Consulate, if this is what the government… https://t.co/K0CHT5AxWQ

“BREAKING: I now face PRISON TIME in Australia for holding a blank sign outside the Chinese Consulate. The LNP conservative controlled Brisbane City Council is now threatening me with arrest and potential jail time for contempt of court unless I pay a $23,000 fine.”
“LNP” is Liberal–National Coalition, which is considered “center-right” and is opposed by Australia’s current ruling Labour Party.
Pavlou has a long history of protesting Communist China, and even started (then folded) a political party to that end. Seems like a bit of a gadfly, really.
But that doesn’t explain why police are threatening to jail a man for holding up a blank sign. Or why a ostensibly conservative party seems to care about the precious feel-feels of the Chinese Communist Party.
Some adjustment seems in order.

Please Say it ain’t so. The UK has been bat excrement crazy imprisoning little old ladies that pray and gentleman that criticize the government for letting foreigners groom and rape young Women. Canada is prosecuting Truckers that complained complained about Covid rules. And now the folks whose most famous national song involves a hobo stealing a sheep and then running from the law drowning himself in a pond are prosecuting a man for holding a BLANK sign. Not that the US was doing much better until recently; many of our Blue states are nearly as insane, merely lightly constrained by a Supreme Court where two-thirds of the justices believe the Constitution means what the plain meaning of the words say it does (most days). At present, we seem to have more in common with Argentina and Poland than with our Anglophone relations. I guess it’s like the rules for oxygen masks on an airplane. Get yours on first then help others. We need to finish getting our act back together before we go charging off to aid Folks in the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. How the hell did the rest of the Anglosphere get so fouled up?
@Tregonsee314, “Rule Britannia, Britannia rules the waves, Britons never, never, never shall be slaves” with the exception that they essentially remain “subjects”, thereby are fine with being slaves to the right people.
The British class system is very alive and very well, and large numbers of America’s ‘cousins’ never broke free from it. London is just as bad as Bilderberg or Davos.
We got the founding principles upon which we founded our country after the Reformation from the Anglo-sphere and parts of what had been Roman-ruled Europe. Those same nations are now returning to totalitarian means and philosophies. Part of that is that Europe is being overwhelmed by Islam in what arguably could be called the 9th Crusade. Hint: Islam is winning.
Our own country is being overwhelmed more by the hostile foreign invaders from the south, although we have more than our share of Islamic shock troops within our borders. And the American Left is siding with both Islam and the other invaders against country and Constitution. I suspect that they will soon throw off any pretense of electoral consent of the governed and try to openly return to the totalitarian means that have governed our history as a species.
There is not much time to change this, and our means are limited. As Europe falls, perhaps it would be best to leave them to their self-selected fate and take care of matters at home as best we can.
Subotai Bahadur
Sir,
Same thing happened in South Africa. The Apartide Government started censoring newspapers, so the newspapers ran blank spaces, to show the story had been censored by the government. The Government then made it illegal to have blank spaces in the newspaper.
Oooh, ….
This is why, a country should never give up your guns
Someone You Know
What they are doing in Europe the globalists have absolutely been trying to do in the US, they’re just further behind. Bahadur is right, this will eventually come to a head. We’re still not voting our way out of this, and if you haven’t been preparing there’s still time, the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago but the 2nd best time is today.
The more they keep losing in the USA the more reactionary and violent their replacement electorate will become. It’s a practical guarantee.
Not just Australia and the UK:
AfD, the most popular German political party is also under attack. German police raided AfD MEP Petr Bystron’s property for the 22nd time on July 24th, using the pretext of a connection to Ukrainian oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk’s defunct Voice of Europe website. The pretext was faked by Czech intelligence.
National Rally leader Marine Le Pen was sentenced to four years in prison and banned from holding public office for five years by a French court on March 31st. Le Pen was the likeliest winner in France’s next presidential election in April 2027. She would have beaten Macron hands down, so the French deep state fabricated this criminal case against her.
He’s lying. His sign did have inflamatory language against CCP. He was also blocking access.

From the link:
“It wasnt just a blank sign & there were pamphets/brochures on the table cropped out of the pic which say “vote 1 Drew Pavlou” is political advertising.
His court fees went up to $20k because he appealed and lost + the original $2k fine”
[…] THIS IS STRAIGHT OUT OF KAFKA: Australia Wants To Jail Man For Holding Blank Sign. […]
Is a “blank sign” really a sign? I’d like to read the statute he supposedly violated.
When you say “inflamatory language against CCP,” my natural assumption is that everything he was saying was true…
My assumption is that no-one much cares about the truth anyway, if it interferes with their assumptions.
Could it have anything to do with the Chinese navy rolling up to Australian shores? I think the term is ‘cowed’.
