President Trump has had great success in driving down crime rates in various crime-ridden Democrat-controlled cities by deploying inter-agency task forces of various law enforcement officers (along with some National Guard). Texas Governor Greg Abbott is taking a page of Trump’s own playbook to launch a multi-agency task force to tackle repeat felons in Harris County.
“Most violent crimes in the Houston area are committed by repeat offenders,” said Abbott during a press conference at the Texas Department of Public Safety’s (DPS) regional headquarters in Houston Wednesday. “Today we’re putting those criminals on notice: ‘We’re coming for you. We’re going to target you, arrest you, and put you where you belong, which is behind bars.’”
Abbott said the task force, which is beginning immediately, will involve swarming high-crime neighborhoods with DPS troopers and special agents, Texas Rangers, and Houston-area officers, with support from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and DPS aircraft. The collaborative efforts will focus on locating repeat offenders using available intelligence regarding gang activity and suspects with warrants.
While acknowledging that crime is down this year in Houston by about 22 percent, Abbott said that residents were still worried about public safety and there are still “far too many victims of crime in Harris County.”
Sydney Zuiker of Crime Stoppers of Houston said that at least 55 percent of violent crime in the city was committed by individuals with a criminal history.
“That’s not just a statistic,” said Zuiker. “It represents lives lost, families changed forever, and communities left to pick up the pieces.”
DPS Director Col. Freeman Martin noted that increased patrol presence has been proven to reduce crime significantly in the most at-risk communities, but added that the efforts to locate offenders would not be as visible to the public. Martin noted that law enforcement agencies often know who the repeat offenders are and will be working to check that those out on bond, parole, or probation are complying with the terms of their release.
President Donald Trump has increasingly focused on crime in urban areas in recent months and sent federal law enforcement agents to Chicago, Memphis, and Portland.
Abbott said there’s never been any threat requiring federal intervention in Texas.
“The president does know that I as governor, as well as our local law enforcement, that we are very committed to this,” said Abbott.
“Houston can be the model for public safety in America’s largest cities,” he added.
Although Houston Mayor John Whitmire did not attend the conference, Abbott said the two talk about public safety frequently and that city law enforcement would be participating in the task force.
Houston Police Officers’ Union Executive Director Ray Hunt noted that there is already significant cooperation between Houston police and DPS.
Hunt said repeat offenders are the “number one problem,” and cited the story of a suspect out on felony bond last year who is now facing a murder charge for a road rage shooting that killed Jadrian Edwards.
Earlier this year DHS announced the establishment of a new regional Homeland Security Task Force in Houston to address international cartel and gang activity and to coordinate efforts with multiple law enforcement agencies.
Release of violent offenders in Harris County has repeatedly drawn scrutiny from state lawmakers, who passed a package of bills cracking down on relaxed bail and judicial practices earlier this year. The bills further restrict the crimes for which suspects can receive a personal recognizance (PR) bond — requiring no cash payment — and require judges, rather than unelected magistrates, to set bonds for certain violent offenses.
State lawmakers also approved a proposed constitutional amendment that would give judges the discretion to deny bond for certain violent crimes if prosecutors provide sufficient evidence that the defendant would pose a threat to public safety. Voters must approve the amendment in the November 2025 election.
Remember, Houston is the city with some 900 accused murderers out on bond. Gov. Abbott’s task force is a welcome addition to crime fighting tools, but one that will probably prove inadequate to achieve more than modest gains.
I have snipped the piece a bit, but one name most conspicuously absent is that of Harris County’s Soros-backed district attorney Sean Teare. It is the soft-on-crime policies of Houston Democrats in general, and those of Teare and Democrat judges in specific, that have led them to allow repeat offenders to continually bond out and get back on the street to commit more crimes. The is of a piece with other Soros-backed, social justice Democrats in deep blue cities around the country. It will be of little use if Abbott’s new task force brings more repeat offenders into custody if far-left Democrat judges and DAs just bond them right back out on the street again.
Another problem Abbott’s task force faces is simply the sheer size of Houston. Geographically, Houston is nine times bigger than Washington D.C. (indeed, the entirety of D.C. would fit pretty much within the 610 loop in Houston, the innermost of three road loops around the largely circular city), and the crime hotspots are far more geographically dispersed. There’s a limit to how much additional law enforcement resources can cover.
Maybe the task force can put a dent in crime, but progress will be limited as long as social justice Democrats control Harris County.
It seems like every year there are news stories about “the biggest meth bust ever in [location x].” But this one is going to be pretty hard to beat.
The “largest” seizure of precursor chemicals used to produce methamphetamine “in U.S. history” happened in Houston this week, the U.S. Department of Justice announced on Wednesday.
Over 300,000 kilograms worth of chemicals “used to produce methamphetamine and intended for clandistine labs” were seized at the Port of Houston, allegedly being shipped from China to the Mexican Sinaloa Drug Cartel.
The seized chemicals are estimated to be capable of producing nearly 190,000 kilograms of methamphetamine, with a dollar value of around $569 million.
“This is the largest seizure of precursor chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine in U.S. history,” U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said in a U.S. Department of Justice press release.
“China was sending over 700,000 lbs on the high seas to the Sinaloa Cartel before my office seized them. Because of President Trump and Secretary Rubio declared the Sinaloa Cartel a Foreign Terrorist Organization, we can now strike faster and hit harder,” Pirro concluded.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued an executive order on February 20 designating the Sinaloa Cartel and several other cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTO). He described it as “one of the world’s most powerful drug cartels and is one of the largest producers and traffickers of fentanyl and other illicit drugs to the United States,” adding that it has “used violence to murder, kidnap, and intimidate civilians, government officials, and journalists.”
In a video posted by Pirro on X, hundreds of blue barrels in plastic wrap could be seen lined up in a Port of Houston warehouse.
“Agents seized six shipping containers of benzyl alcohol, a solvent used in the manufacture of pharmaceuticals, weighing 164,880 kilos and six shipping containers of N-methyl formamide, another liquid organic solvent, weighing 151,560 kilos,” the press release recounted. It contrasted this with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) seizure of 78,925 total kilos of methamphetamine in one year.
I hope the DEA’s data linking these to meth manufacture and Sinaloa is airtight, because there are a lot of legitimate, non-drug uses for those chemicals.
“In order to transport the chemicals from port to a secure [Homeland Security Investigations (HSI)] storage facility, it took twenty-four, 18-wheeler trucks to transport the sheer volume of precursor chemicals.”
Due to the Sinaloa Cartel’s designation as a FTO by Rubio, Pirro and her office had the authority to execute a search warrant under the “terrosim forfeiture provision” of the declaration.
The Houston operation was a collaboration between the HSI, Pirro, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Acting Director Todd Lyons.
Not much attention and effort has been spent on The War on Drugs recently, mainly because it looks like Drugs had already decisively won the war. The law of supply and demand is powerful enough to easily jump hurdles like “the rule of law.” To be fair, the ruling elite who lost that war seem increasingly feckless and incompetent in hindsight, and one suspects that a significant percentage of previous regimes never seriously tried to win the War on Drugs. It’s obvious that Trump is able to accomplish many goals they couldn’t. Plus the ongoing slow-motion legalization of marijuana will presumably let the feds concentrate on the hard stuff.
Trump47’s approach, emphasizing the tools of anti-terrorism over mere law enforcement, promises to take the fight nation-state and non-nation-state actors rather than relying on street level busts. But previous administrations have used supply interdiction strategies, to little effect. And it’s not like international drug cartels can’t avoid this problem in the future. If there’s a risk that docking in Houston, New Orleans or Long Beach might get their chemicals captured, they’ll just ship directly to Lazaro Cardenas or Veracruz instead.
And meth is particularly tricky to stop, since there are multiple chemical pathways to producing it. Though this particular bust is huge, it will likely only temporarily raise the price of the end-product and allow other cartels and small-time American sleazeballs to pick up the slack.
There’s talk that blowing up that drug boat will make international drug traffickers “think twice” before smuggling into the U.S. With all due respect: No it won’t. It may temporarily put a crimp in Venezuelan gangs, because they’re relatively low on the pecking order, but for the bigger cartels, a couple of goons and a speedboat isn’t even a rounding error. There are always more boats, and more goons, because the trade is lucrative enough to ensure there will always be more. Cartel gunmen get waxed all the time, and there are always more to take their place, because a high-paying job that lets you have flashy cars and flashy women beats hard-scrabble farming or working in a maliquadora for the vast majority of Mexican street toughs. And the Venezuela per capita GDP is, what, $15 a day? I’m pretty sure $2,000 a speedboat run to the U.S. would be more than sufficient for additional goons to keep lining up for the job indefinitely.
There’s a passage in Cormac McCarthy’s No Country for Old Men where a sheriff talks about staking out an empty drug plane to arrest the gang members when they come back, and another cop notes they’re never coming back. An entire plane is just a line-item write-off for international drug cartels.
I have no objection to dirt-napping narcoterrorists on the high seas, and there’s no foe on earth the U.S. military can’t defeat in a real shooting war, but M1A3 tanks and F-35s are of rather limited use against criminal cartels. It’s easy to imagine DoD throwing billions worth of effort into the fight, killing multitudes of cartel gunmen, and still not making any dent in the drug trade.
I can imagine a War on Drugs that the United States government could actually win, but it would involve simultaneous attacks on all the cartels at the same time, temporary martial law and suspension of habeas corpus where all known drug dealers and gang members where arrested and held for a time while also rounding up and forcing all known addicts into rehab. Oh, you’d probably need to take the top level Mexican politicians, judges and quite a few generals into “protective custody” for a while, take an AI troll through every bank record in Mexico and the U.S. for cartel payoffs, then arrest anyone (in Mexico or the U.S) who were dirty and put them on trial, plus occupy significant portions of Columbia to seize the entirety of the coca crop, do the same to the poppy fields of the golden triangle, and probably bomb a who bunch of fentanyl factories in foreign countries, including China.
Do all that, and you might put a serious dent into the illegal narcotics trade that might last for, oh, maybe five years before the networks regrow. And I think a few people might just have some wee tiny constitutional quibbles with the approach.
It would be every bit as enjoyable as America’s military missions to Afghanistan and Iraq, but without all the rollicking, laughter-filled fun and good times.
And speaking of Afghanistan, drug warriors tried to wipe out the opium trade there during the two decade occupation. How did that work out?
President Trump’s numerous unorthodox approaches to previously intractable problems have already achieved things that many thought were impossible, but I suspect the War on Drugs is one even he can’t win.

Another court win for Trump47. “Supreme Court Rules 5-4 That Trump Can Slash $783 Million In DEI Research Funding.”
The Trump administration is free to eliminate hundreds of millions of dollars worth of research funding on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) following last week’s ruling by the United States Supreme Court.
In a 5-4 vote, the justices lifted an order from a federal court judge in Boston that blocked $783 million in cuts made by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) on health research grants that were being used to advance DEI efforts as well as “gender ideology extremism.”
The Supreme Court was split on the 5-4 decision which marks another win for President Trump and clears the way for his administration to move forward with canceling hundreds of grants after U.S. District Judge William Young ordered the health-related grants restored in June.
Chief Justice John Roberts was among the dissenters in the high court’s decision and Justice Amy Coney Barrett voted with conservative majority to let the administration stop the grant funding.
Roberts and Barrett did land on the side of the dissent and allowed to stand a portion of the lower judge’s order that voided a number of NIH policies that targeted DEI programs at the direction of the White House.
Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick canceled an Biden administration agreement Monday to distribute billions of dollars for semiconductor research through a nonprofit set up and staffed by former political appointees, according to a letter obtained by The Post.
The 2022 CHIPS and Science Act provided for $11 billion in semiconductor research and development funding to be given out by the Commerce Department’s National Semiconductor Technology Center.
“Rather than establishing these operations within the Department, however, Biden Administration officials spent significant time, effort, and resources creating an unaccountable, outside entity–Natcast–to administer taxpayer funds,” Lutnick wrote Natcast CEO Deirdre Hanford.
Four days before Biden left office on Jan. 20, Lutnick noted, the Commerce Department agreed to set aside $7.4 billion in “advance payments” to Natcast after spending nearly two years setting it up and tapping administration officials, advisers and allies to fill out positions.
That arrangement both effectively removed the incoming Trump administration from being involved in the process and provided “virtually all” of Natcast’s funding — prompting incoming Departments of Justice and Commerce officials to take another look at the Sunnyvale, Calif., nonprofit.
“These actions do not just give the appearance of impropriety; they flout federal law,” Lutnick told Hanford, pointing out that no provisions in the CHIPS Act authorized an outside entity like Natcast to distribute semiconductor research funds.
“The GCCA [Government Corporation Control Act] plainly prohibits agencies from establishing a corporation to act as an agency without specific authorization, and the January 16, 2025, agreement does nothing other than set forth the terms of the Biden Administration’s attempt to do just that.”
Natcast’s selection committee included Biden White House alums like Jason Matheny, former deputy director for national security in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; and Kendra Wilkerson, the CEO of a nonprofit that “promotes greater equality for women and nonbinary professionals in technology fields,” according to the Biden Commerce Department.
Donna Dubinsky, another Natcast executive, worked as senior counselor to former Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo and signed off on the nonprofit’s 501(c)(3) status.
Susan Feindt, the Biden Commerce Department’s vice chair of its CHIPS Act advisory committee, is now the senior vice president of ecosystem development at Natcast.
Jeremy Licht, the former chief counsel on semiconductor incentives at the Biden Commerce Department, is now the general counsel at Natcast.

White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor Stephen Miller told reporters Monday that the Trump administration has uncovered a “massive scandal” in Washington D.C. involving the doctoring of crime statistics.
He said the alleged corruption is currently under investigation and said details of the corruption will soon be brought to light.
“The results will stun you,” he said.
Miller made the remarks in the Oval Office after President Trump signed a slew of new executive orders to end cashless bail throughout the United States and in the District of Columbia, prosecute the burning of the American flag, and additional measures to address crime in Washington D.C.
Miller said D.C. already had the worst crime statistics in the United States when “honestly measured,” but those stats “dramatically understated how bad it was.”
The White House advisor told reporters that murders and homicides were allegedly being reported as accidents instead of murders.
“This is how severe the manipulation of the crime data has been in the city and it will all be uncovered and it will all be brought to light,” he said.
For the past two weeks—since the D.C. crime crackdown began—the city has not seen a single murder or homicide.
“No police officer working in the city can remember a time in their lives when there has been no murders,” Miller asserted.
He said police officers have told him that members of the public have been thanking them for making D.C safe again.
“For the first time in their lives, they can use the parks, they can walk on the streets, you have people who can walk freely at night without worrying about being ribbed or mugged,” he said. “They’re wearing their watch again, they’re wearing jewelry again, they’re carrying purses again.”
Miller explained that D.C. residents had been forced to “change their who lives for fear of being murdered, mugged or carjacked.”
He added that Trump had freed the 700,000 residents of the city from “the rule of criminals and thugs.”
Miller credited Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Administrator Terrance C. Cole with discovering that street criminals in Washington D.C. have been “doing business directly with the transnational criminal cartels,” which are foreign terrorist organizations.
“So not only was the city being run by these criminal thugs, but they were working with some of the most dangerous terrorist organizations on the planet to traffic weapons and drugs into this city,” he explained.
Israel’s military conducted airstrikes on Yemen’s Houthi-controlled capital, Sanaa, on Sunday, targeting high-profile sites in a significant escalation of hostilities.
The strikes hit areas near the presidential palace, the Asar and Hizaz power plants, and Houthi facilities suspected of housing artillery, including ballistic missiles, according to regional reports.
The operation was a direct response to recent Houthi attacks on Israel, including projectile launches on Friday, a military source told the Jerusalem Post. Fox News reported Thursday Mamdani’s “growing circle of influence is littered with activists who have espoused anti-Israel views and socialist principles as he attempts to dispel the narrative that he is too ‘radical’ to run the nation’s largest city.” Yeah, these advisors show that he is indeed far too radical to be mayor of New York, but that’s not likely to keep him from being elected.

Fox News reported on Aug. 14 that “A former top executive for liberal billionaire George Soros’ Open Society Foundations (OSF) between 2017 and 2020 is back in the spotlight amid reports highlighting his involvement with Zohran Mamdani’s New York City mayoral campaign and connecting Obama world to the campaign.”
The Soros exec in question is Patrick Gaspard, an old political hand on the left; the first campaign he worked on was Jesse Jackson’s 1988 presidential run. Gaspard “has served in several high-profile political positions, including advising former President Barack Obama’s historic 2008 campaign, serving as the Democratic National Committee’s executive director, and being tapped as the Center for American Progress (CAP) president in 2021.”
Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, the co-founder of the Sinaloa cartel, is set to face the rest of his life behind bars as the Trump administration ramps up its efforts to dismantle cartels.
Zambada, 75, confessed in a Brooklyn, New York, courtroom Monday that he had coordinated with Mexican officials to smuggle drugs into the U.S. for decades — and ultimately pleaded guilty to serving as principal leader of a continuing criminal enterprise and racketeering conspiracy.
The Trump administration has pledged to take down the cartels — and experts predict Zambada’s guilty plea paves the way for the Justice Department to launch more indictments against high-profile cartel members moving forward and exerts additional pressure on Mexico to comply with U.S. requests.

They also hit the Ust-Luga gas processing terminal near St. Petersburg with ten drones. “This terminal is responsible for processing stable gas condenscent in naphtha jet fuel fuel oil and distillates.” The location makes me wonder if a goodly portion was intended for the export market.
The map of Russian refineries reveals a key strategic problem. The main processing capabilities are in the European part of the country, whilst fuel consumption is rising in the far east. Fuel logistic chains for eastern regions span thousands of kilometers, creating additional costs and risks. Kilometer-long queues in cities are a direct result of the imbalance between western production and eastern consumption.
Harris County’s District Attorney Sean Teare has charged Yunhai Li, a 35-year-old former MD Anderson Cancer Center researcher, with attempting to steal and take proprietary cancer-related research back to China. This comes after multiple warnings about research security in Texas higher education.

Last week, a Houston resident foiled a home invasion attempt by a couple criminals trying to impersonate the police. According to the news article:

The homeowner ended up shooting and killing both offenders.

The chancellor argued for a fundamental reassessment of the benefits system as spending continues to soar past last year’s record of €47bn (£40bn).

Industrial production fell under the Left-leaning “traffic light” coalition of Olaf Scholz and continues to slide under the new government, with GDP declining by 0.3 per cent in the second quarter of 2025.
Meanwhile, spending on social welfare has exploded, and is set to increase further this year as Germany’s population ages and unemployment rises. Although the majority of benefit recipients are German, large numbers are non-German citizens.

This is a weird story. “Moms Arrested for Running North Texas Choir Booster Club. Cleared of charges, moms still lost choir booster club money to the school district.”
Local authorities in Collin County, including a school district, have harassed three moms in a quest to control a school booster club and its funds, even going so far as to arrest them.
Plano Independent School District targeted the Jasper High School Choir Booster Club for control of its bank account after the mothers charged with running the independent organization insisted that the district pay for Jasper High School’s stage—as was the district’s responsibility.
The district had the Plano police arrest the booster club’s founders—Laura Cervantes, Krisinda Lingenfelter, and Maria Luisa King. Yet, after a Collin County grand jury failed to find enough evidence to prosecute these moms, a Plano municipal judge recently awarded the club’s bank funds to Plano ISD.
Also this: “Oral arguments were held on May 30 before Judge Paul McNulty, chief judge for the Municipal Court of Plano. Texas Scorecard was in attendance. Recording devices were banned from the trial and the booster club was denied its request to bring a court reporter.” Also, another judge involved in the case, Lisa Bronchetti, evidently wrote a bad check to the club but still failed to excuse herself.

Two leaders of Kingdom of God Global Church were arrested Wednesday for their alleged roles in a forced labor and money-laundering conspiracy across multiple states, including Texas, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
The JMMI Global “Campus for Harvest”, a property owned by Kingdom of God Global Church, was raided early Wednesday morning in Houston.
According to the DOJ, David Taylor, 53, was arrested in North Carolina, and Michelle Brannon, 56, was arrested in Florida.
The indictment charges them with conspiracy to commit forced labor, forced labor and money laundering conspiracy.
According to the DOJ, Taylor and Brannon are the leaders of Kingdom of God Global Church, formerly known as Joshua Media Ministries International.
Taylor reportedly operated call centers in Michigan, Florida, Texas and Missouri to solicit donations for KOGGC/JMMI. The DOJ says they received millions of dollars every year through the call centers.
Taylor and Brannon are accused of compelling their victims to work at the call centers and work as Taylor’s “armor bearers,” his personal servants.
According to the DOJ, the victims’ lives were controlled by Taylor and Brannon, they slept in the call center facility or in a ministry house, and they were not allowed to leave without permission.
Taylor allegedly had his armor bearers transport women from ministry houses, airports, and other locations to Taylor’s location and ensure the women took Plan B emergency contraceptives.
Doesn’t sound very godly, does it?
“In addition, according to the indictment, Taylor and Brannon required victims to work in the call centers long hours without pay or perform other services for Taylor. Taylor set unobtainable daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly monetary donation goals for victims working in the call centers and required victims to follow the orders he created without question. If victims disobeyed an order or failed to reach his monetary goals, Taylor and Brannon punished the victims with public humiliation, additional work, food and shelter restrictions, psychological abuse, forced repentance, sleep deprivation, physical assaults, and threats of divine judgment in the form of sickness, accidents, and eternal damnation,” the DOJ wrote in a news release.
I am not a lawyer, but I’m pretty sure a bunch of those are illegal under both state and federal law.
Not to mention the Thirteenth Amendment.
According to the allegations, Taylor and Brannon used much of the money to buy luxury properties, luxury vehicles and sporting equipment like a boat, jet skis and ATVs. The DOJ says Taylor has received around $50 million in donations since 2014.
In the northeast Houston-area, federal agents have raided a hotel owned by JMMI Global, a ministry led by David E. Taylor. FOX 26’s Sherman Desselle has more information on the raid.
FOX 26 was on the scene of an FBI search warrant execution at the JMMI Global Campus for Harvest in the 14000 block of North Freeway in Houston early Wednesday morning. According to property records, the property has been owned by Kingdom of God Global Church since 2023.
According to Taylor, the former hotel would be used as a Bible school, campus, and housing center for missionaries and students.
At the scene, officers could be heard on a loudspeaker announcing the FBI had a search warrant for the location and for anyone inside to come out.
Several men and women were escorted out by officers, some handcuffed. According to sources, 17 individuals, nine men and eight women, were removed from the building.
All of this sounds (sex abuse, slavery) like classic cult behavior. if any of this is happening to you, you need to find a new church and call the police.
After weeks of gridlock, the Texas House has approved a new congressional redistricting plan that Republicans say will strengthen their hold on Washington, adding five GOP-leaning seats across the state.
The issue has been a priority for Gov. Greg Abbott, who placed congressional redistricting on the call during the first special session earlier this summer. But Democrats brought the chamber to a standstill when they broke quorum and fled to Illinois and other states to prevent the map from advancing.
Their walkout effectively killed the first special session, but with Abbott calling lawmakers back for a second 30-day session, Democrats returned on Monday. By Wednesday, Republicans had rushed the proposal out of committee and onto the House calendar, where it passed on a party-line vote.
State Rep. Todd Hunter (R–Corpus Christi), who carried the legislation, defended the process while laying out the plan on the floor.
“This plan originated in the first called special session before the chamber left a quorum,” said Hunter. “In that session, we held three public hearings—we were not required to hold those hearings. At these hearings, we heard testimony from members of Congress and citizens alike. The underlying goal of this plan is straightforward: improve Republican political performance.”
The map, which reshapes districts in Dallas and Houston as well as Central and South Texas, is designed to reflect population growth while giving Republicans an even stronger advantage. Each new district is required to be nearly equal in population, with the ideal congressional size sitting around 766,900 residents.
Democrats blasted the proposal as “illegal and racially discriminatory.”
President Donald Trump, meanwhile, cheered the move on Truth Social, calling it “ONE BIG, BEAUTIFUL CONGRESSIONAL MAP!” He praised Abbott and House Speaker Dustin Burrows for restoring a quorum, writing, “With the Texas House now in Quorum, thanks to GREAT Speaker Dustin Burrows, I call on all of my Republican friends in the Legislature to work as fast as they can to get THIS MAP to Governor Greg Abbott’s desk, ASAP.”
The detailed county-by-county breakdown maps of the new districts can be found here. On a personal note, I am thankfully being moved out of Democrat Lloyd Doggett’s District 37 and into Republican August Pfluger’s District 11.
Here’s a snapshot of the new districts from The Texan.
“The final vote was 88 ayes — all Republicans including House Speaker Dustin Burrows (R-Lubbock), who normally doesn’t vote on legislation — to 52 nays.”
Republicans drew this new map at the behest of President Donald Trump and with his 2024 election performance top of mind, ensuring that each of the projected five GOP pickups were areas the president won last year by at least 10 points.
Those five seats are the 9th, 28th, 32nd, 34th, and 35th congressional districts; two are in South Texas, one in Dallas, one in Houston, and one on the outskirts of San Antonio.
The Democrats currently representing those districts are Al Green of Houston (9th), the currently indicted Henry Cuellar of Larado (28th), Julie Johnson of Farmers Branch (32nd), Vicente Gonzalez of McAllen (34th), and infamous commie twerp Greg Casar of Austin (35th).
My guess is that Cuellar and Gonzalez are simply gone, since the Rio Grande Valley was already trending Republican and there are no friendly districts anywhere nearby for them to run in. Green could quite conceivably run in the now-vacant 18th congressional district, previously represented by the deceased Sylvester Turner, and before that by the daughter of the also-deceased Sheila Jackson Lee, and before that by Lee. While Johnson could theoretically run in neighboring Marc Veasey’s 33rd congressional district, that’s a Hispanic and black majority district (and I suspect it’s getting even more so in the current redistricting), which is a tough hill to climb for any white candidate, much less a gay white girl in a suburban district, so I suspect she’s toast as well. The redistricting sets up a Thunderdome showdown between Doggett and Casar for the Austin-based 37th, unless Doggett (who is 79) retires.
Now on to the Texas Senate, where which passed its own redistricting bill handily in the first special session and will likely pass this one in quick order.
I have been (and will continue to be) quite critical of House Speaker Dustin Burrows’ membership in the Straus-Bonnen-Phelan cabal that stays in power thanks to Democrat votes and special interest/gambling money, but in this instance he has delivered on a very important Republican priority.
Remember: All this was set in motion by Petteway v. Galveston County, a lawsuit Democrats filed in order to save one Galveston County commissioner’s seat, whereupon the Supreme Court ruled that “black/brown” coalition minority districts carved out to benefit the Democratic Party were unconstitutional. So instead of saving one county commissioner’s seat, they’re going to lose five U.S. Congressional seats.
Democrats did this to themselves, and have no one else to blame…
No matter how unpopular the topic is with American voters, the hard left still wants to keep as many illegal aliens from being deported as possible, and to that end they’re organizing to attack ICE agents.
A volunteer orientation meeting hosted by the Party for Socialism and Liberation in partnership with Houston Leads outlined plans to establish a rapid response network against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in Houston.
The session, attended by about a dozen participants, emphasized organizing volunteers to counter deportations, raids, and detentions.
A speaker described the initiative’s objective, stating, “We want to build a long-term movement that fights back against deportations, raids, detention, and all other forms of immigration-related terror.”

Tactics discussed include responding to ICE sightings by recording agents, slowing operations, and mobilizing at locations. Volunteers are advised to identify as neutral observers to avoid affiliation disclosure.
“What you say is that you’re a volunteer legal observer … we never say what we are a part of,” instructed an organizer.
The meeting covered legal rights, such as refusing searches without warrants, and potential risks like being arrested for obstructing justice. “We are just inevitably going to be facing up against law enforcement and ICE agents,” speakers noted.
Whoever knowingly and willfully obstructs, resists, or opposes any officer of the United States, or other person duly authorized, in serving, or attempting to serve or execute, any legal or judicial writ or process of any court of the United States, or United States magistrate judge; or
Whoever assaults, beats, or wounds any officer or other person duly authorized, knowing him to be such officer, or other person so duly authorized, in serving or executing any such writ, rule, order, process, warrant, or other legal or judicial writ or process, shall, except as otherwise provided by law, be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.
So how does the Party for Socialism and Liberation get away with an open conspiracy to hinder law enforcement officers in carrying out their official duties? This seems like the sort of thing the FBI should investigate, especially the funding sources. The Party for Socialism and Liberation’s fiscal sponsor is the Progress Unity Fund, which in turn is funded by the George Soros-backed Tides Foundation.
The left know that deporting illegal aliens is widely popular with the American people, and that such deportations are both legal and constitutional. But they are in open rebellion (indeed, dare we say “insurrection?”) against them because they have deluded themselves into thinking that importing a huge populace of unassimilated illegal aliens into the country is somehow going to be their ticket to permanent political rule, long after the author of this idea stated that it was no longer true.
It’s yet another 20%/80% hill they seem willing to die in.
The Houston Police Department has ordered approximately 1,200 officers to replace their SIG Sauer P320 service weapons following a lawsuit alleging the pistol’s potential for unintended discharges.
Under the new directive, officers have until the end of September to make the switch.
The decision follows a lawsuit filed by veteran HPD officer Richard Fernandez Jr., who alleges that his holstered P320 discharged without a trigger pull.
The $10 million lawsuit, filed against the pistol’s manufacturer, SIG Sauer, claims Fernandez now suffers permanent numbness in his foot as a result of the incident.
“I heard a pop, but it didn’t sound like a gunshot,” Fernandez recounted. “I looked down, saw a hole in my pant leg, and realized I was bleeding. My hand wasn’t anywhere near the gun.”
His legal team argues that SIG Sauer has long been aware of serious design flaws in the P320. The suit joins more than 100 similar claims filed nationwide since 2017, many alleging the pistols fired while holstered or after being dropped.
The P320 has a controversial track record with HPD. In 2017, tests done by HPD found the pistol can accidentally fire almost 10 percent of the time after being dropped.
I wonder if this was pre- or post-voluntary upgrade.
While it was adopted by the U.S. military in 2017 as the M17 and M18, the civilian version soon faced scrutiny following reports of “drop-fire” incidents. These concerns prompted SIG Sauer to launch a voluntary upgrade program in 2017 to address potential discharge risks.
Despite the upgrades, lawsuits have continued to emerge alleging that the P320 can still fire without the trigger being pulled.
A jury found the SIG P320 “defectively designed” in a Massachusetts police lawsuit last month.
Steve Crowder devoted a show to P320 problems, including collecting videos of uncommanded discharges:
Crowder shows four videos of police P320s going off in the holster with no one’s fingers anywhere near the trigger. In two of those instances an officer was shot. And those are just the instance where the discharge was actually captured on film, so it seems reasonable to assume that there are a whole lot more that weren’t filmed.
Crowder also notes a very significant change in the language of Sig’s denials: “Newest email. The P320 cannot, under any circumstances, discharge without the trigger first being moved to the rear. Cool. “Trigger pull” versus “moved to the rear.” You know that change had to have come straight from their legal department in a CYA memo.
Crowder also had on Brandon Herrera (who previously covered the issue) to talk about the P320:
Brandon Herrera: “ICE has released a report. Basically they were talking about all the accidental discharges that have happened with all of their service weapons. And you have multiple columns. One of them is which pistol it was. Vast majority were the P320s. Then in the other column whether or not that incident included injury. So they not only said that these things were going off, but there were multiple occasions where they were injuring people that were actively working for ICE.”
BH: “if if they admit there is a problem with the civilian side stuff, then they have to maybe go in and [do] a very expensive upgrade to all their their military contract [P320s].”
BH: “Hopefully this is a big enough deal with this airman unfortunately losing his life that Sig can no longer look the other way and pretend there isn’t a problem.”
Steve Crowder: “How do you think [Sig] scored such a big contract with at that point a relatively new pistol?
BH: “That’s an excellent question.” [long pause]
BH: “It seems like Sig has gotten a lot of these contracts. And the question is whether that was based on merit, or some other thing that I won’t say in a public setting.”
BH: “I’m frankly shocked I haven’t gotten a cease and deceased yet. A cease and desist yet. I think it might be coming soon because I think they’re at the point where they, especially this this most recent wave, they’re losing control of the narrative. Before it was easy to just say, ‘Oh, it’s a couple of grifters, you know, don’t pay any attention to them. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.’ But now, I mean, hell, it’s everybody. The the conversation is completely shifted. Very few people are defending Sig anymore on this.”
SC: “My hunch is because of the military doesn’t want to admit that they screwed up either.”
Off the topic of Sig, Herrera says he’s not eager to run for office again. “Running the first time was probably one of the worst nine-month experiences of my life. And I would love to not repeat that again, but at the same time, they’re not voting any better.”
At this point its hard to see Sig gets out of this jam short of completely withdrawing the P320 from the market. Their potential liability is huge, and replacing all military and police service arms may be ruinous, as, presumably, any sort of recall to fix the problem, even assuming that they could find a fix and provide a solution that works.
Japan is beset by many problems, most notably spiraling national debt and a collapsing birth rate. But they don’t lack technological savvy or civic foresight, as indicated by the massive disaster recovery infrastructure expansion they’re investing in for Tokyo.
What does Tokyo have to worry about? Earthquakes, fires, typhoons, floods, and volcanoes (including iconic Mount Fuji). “This city is constantly on the brink of disaster.”
“This is a city that really shouldn’t be here, but it is, because engineers have developed some of the most extensive and advanced countermeasures anywhere in the world. But it’s not enough.”
“The number of threats Tokyo faces, and the damage those threats could cause is only getting worse. A quarter of Japan’s population now lives in the greater Tokyo area, and the city center accounts for more than 20% of this country’s GDP. If disaster struck now, it wouldn’t just be bad for Tokyo. It will have a knock-on effect for this entire country and even the world. This place, this city, really matters.”
“But Tokyo is not exactly a city that does things by half measures. So when it came to protect yourself from annihilation, they decided to go big by building one of the biggest civil defense projects in history.”
“This is the Pacific Ring of Fire, a 40,000 kilometer tectonic belt. It was this that forced Japan out of the sea in the first place, but also left it studded with volcanoes, 111 of which are still active today. And while you only need two plates growing together to create some seismic activity, Japan lies across four, which means this one country is struck by 18% of all the world’s earthquakes.”
“And as if all that wasn’t enough, thousands of kilometers of ocean to the south, that leaves it wide open to typhoons and tsunamis rolling in from the Pacific.”
“Throughout its history, Tokyo has been quite literally razed to the ground numerous times. But now with 40 million people living here, that simply can’t happen again. Which is why in December 2022, the city’s governments hatched a plan. The Tokyo Resilience Project.”
“It’s going to take 18 years to fully complete and cost ¥17 trillion, which is around 109 billion USD.”
“Flooding is a critical threat to Tokyo, 124km², a fifth of central Tokyo, lies below sea level, so the TRP is not taking any chances.”
“Over the last 40 years, the amounts of heavy downpours have almost doubled in Japan. Flooding was a daily part of life in Tokyo. And it was only getting worse. In 1992, the city’s government embarked on an extraordinary project in response to this challenge, an underground system made up of five silos which collect flood water from nearby rivers and channel it down a 6.5km tunnel into this huge hall.”
“This is the metropolitan area, outer underground discharge channel, or G-CANs for short. It is a water tank. It is an enormous space 25m high. It’s 50m beneath the city streets, 177m long and 78m wide. This place cost 2 billion USD and took 17 years to build. Now it’s capable of pumping out 200 tons of water a second.”
“While the scale of this place might be mind boggling, here’s the thing. The Tokyo Resilience Project is working on doubling the capacity of this system.”
The water diversion channels are similarly massive. “This space is 12.4m wide. It runs for 5.4km, or it will do when they finished building, it and it’s going to connect up to two other tunnels to create a network that’s 13km long.”
This massive project requires equally massive machinery. “To dig this channel, engineers constructed an enormous [tunnel boring machine] nearly 12m wide, weighing in at a massive 2800 tons…Just ahead of me up here is the massive cutting head is pushing forward through the soil. 12.5m wide rotating rounds to dig out this huge hole.”
The video also shows a giant rock friction apparatus that tests how earthquake fault slips occur.
The Mori JP Tower, completed in 2023, isn’t just a the skyscraper in Japan. “Five stories beneath the streets of Tokyo, directly under that super tall skyscraper that’s rising above my head. You’ll find this: back up in the generators, a huge water supply fed by an underground, well. Extensive food supplies, batteries and amazing series of systems that enable this building to keep running independently should the worst happen in the surrounding city.” Even the huge backup generator is on isolation springs.
“These diesel generators work alongside a massive bank of batteries in case of an emergency so that if a disaster destroys the power grids, the tower can be completely self-sufficient. It’s so safe here that the skyscraper acts as a refuge for people in the area. Inside this storeroom are enough supplies to feed 3600 people for three days. These kits include everything from tinned food, bottled water, toilets and even baby supplies.”
“None of this would mean anything if the building wasn’t still standing in the first place. Part of this tower’s earthquake defenses are made up of hundreds of pistons known as oil dampers located all around the building.”
“About 86km² of Tokyo is still densely packed with old wooden housing, which is a high risk of secondary fires. Neighborhoods like these have been earmarked for redevelopments which will feature new roads to buildings and parks to act as firebreaks. And that’s not all. Overhead wires and cables like these are prone to collapsing and starting fires. And that’s why over 1000km of roads across the city are having their overhead utilities replaced and moved underground.” The utility change is no doubt long overdue, but I fear redevelopment will change the charm of old Tokyo.
There’s a lot to learn here for disaster recovery preparation for American cities. Houston is another broad, flat cities that get flooding from hurricanes. (As is New Orleans, but its gumbo-like soil makes building massive underground infrastructure like this difficult.)
Los Angeles and San Francisco could certainly learn earthquake and disaster recover lessons from Tokyo, but we all know such massive infrastructure projects are all but impossible to complete in Democrat-run blue cities in blue states. The regulatory burden is all but insurmountable, and even then, vast amounts of money allocated to the project are inevitably raked off in graft for the hard left…

Winning: “Trump strikes massive trade deal with EU on energy, arms, tariffs.”
The United States has reached a trade deal with the European Union after President Donald Trump pressured the group of nations, as well as others, to open up trade with the US using the threat of tariffs.
While being joined by EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Trump detailed the plans for the deal. “The European Union is going to agree to purchase from the United States $750 billion worth of energy.”
“They are going to agree to invest, into the United States, $600 billion more than they’re investing already. So they’re investing a large amount of money. … They’re agreeing to open up their countries to trade at zero tariff,” Trump added. “So that’s a very big factor, opening up their countries. All of the countries will be opened up to trade with the United States at zero tariff, and they’re agreeing to purchase a vast amount of military equipment.”
The president added that the number for the military equipment is not exact, and then also said the EU imports to the US will have a “straight across tariff of 15 percent” on automobiles and other goods. The tariffs on EU goods were previously in the single digits on average, according to the New York Times. The EU had hoped to reach an agreement for 10 percent across the board on tariffs.
The Very Best People repeatedly told us that President Trump’s tariff strategy would inevitably plunge us into a trade war and send the economy into a recession, if not a recession. It turns out, once again, that Trump has far better grasp of negotiating strategy than they do.
When Mr. Trump first unveiled his reciprocal tariffs, virtually all the important foreign countries flocked to make a deal with him; they ignored Communist China.
Why is that? Because America’s the greatest country in the world. With the best economy.
And nobody trusts the Chinese to do anything, much less honor a trade deal.
What’s more, Mr. Trump and his team have already made a number of deals with the United Kingdom, the European Union, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, and South Korea.
Talks with Mexico are constructive and will be extended.
We can’t be sure, but it’s likely that the China talks will be extended.
In general, Mr. Trump is charging a very modest 15 percent or 20 percent fee as the price for doing business with the greatest economy in the world.
That modest fee could generate something like $400 billion a year in tariff revenues.
And here’s his new wrinkle: vast foreign direct investment into America
For example, $600 billion from the EU, and perhaps another $600 billion from Japan. Maybe $750 billion from EU energy purchases. Think clean burning LNG produced by America’s first in the world energy industry.
Direct investment pledges of as much as $5 trillion or $6 trillion coming from governments and companies all around the world — including the Middle East. And even in Asia — with South Korea putting up $350 billion.
We’ll learn more about how this direct investment is going to work, but the point is — the stimulus from all of that vastly outweighs any fiscal drag from the mostly moderate reciprocal tariff rates.
That’s Mr. Trump’s brand-new wrinkle. And it’s a very clever ploy.

A source familiar with the contents of the classified annex told Fox News Digital that while it may not have been exactly clear in the moment what the intelligence collection meant, with the benefit of hindsight, it predicted the FBI’s next move ‘with alarming specificity.’
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took members of the press corps to task over their refusal to cover newly released evidence that shows Hillary Clinton approved the Russian collusion hoax against Donald Trump.
Leavitt’s comments come on the heels of a newly declassified appendix to the Durham Report that exposes a reported Clinton campaign plan to falsely accuse President Trump of collusion with Russia.
Leavitt chided members of the press, telling them, “This is a story that every outlet in this room should be covering,” and that “This is further evidence that Hillary Clinton approved the Russia Hoax against President Trump. Her campaign financed it.”
Leavitt added that “the FBI and the CIA were both weaponized to accelerate this hoax against then-candidate and former president Trump.”
The Press Secretary told reporters that, “The president wants to see justice served and he trusts the Attorney General and the Department of Justice to implement that justice and hold these people accountable.”
The so-called “Durham annex” to John Durham’s Special Counsel report was released yesterday by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and brings previously classified information to light regarding the Clinton campaign’s plans to falsely tie Trump to Russia.
In a press release, Grassley said, “History will show that the Obama and Biden administration’s law enforcement and intelligence agencies were weaponized against President Trump. This political weaponization has caused critical damage to our institutions and is one of the biggest political scandals and cover-ups in American history. The new Trump administration has a tremendous responsibility to the American people to fix the damage done and do so with maximum speed and transparency.”
Travel back in time to the year 2021 and you might find yourself in the middle of a bizarre debate over the virtues of “cancel culture”. At the time the political left was aggressively trying to secure long term power within the US through a multi-pronged psychological offensive – A war on the minds of the masses designed to force Americans into submission.
A big part of their strategy relied on the fundamentals of Cultural Marxism: The combination of Marxist mob tactics, artificial consensus and the exploitation of minority grievances as a vehicle for controlling speech. This was the rise of the “woke movement” to the halls of government.
The root of their power was not martial. In fact, the political left is weak and largely astroturf with minimal ability to project power in a physical way. If conservatives wanted to destroy them tomorrow the task would be relatively easy. We don’t because many of us still have hope that our problems can be solved through peaceful discourse.
What the leftists did have at their disposal was a massive institutional apparatus of government agencies, corporations, Big Tech and NGOs. The full might of the establishment cabal was on their side, which meant they had the means to enforce “cancel culture” and silence their ideological opponents.
I don’t think there has ever been a psychological war on a population that was more pervasive and tyrannical. Not since Mao’s Cultural Revolution in China has a citizenry been under such a siege by their own government. The fact that we survived this event, defeated the onslaught and actually grew a grassroots anti-woke movement without the use of social media forums is truly mind blowing.
Very few people today realize the level of victory that was achieved. We thwarted perhaps the largest 4th Generation “mind war” ever devised and we did it without any institutional access. We won by simple truth and word of mouth.
Another tool that the leftists and globalists used was the mobilization of illegal migrants, gays and minorities as a shield against criticism or counter-protest. If conservatives and moderates fought back with superior debate or our own protest groups, we were immediately accused of racism, xenophobia and homophobia. Merely presenting an opposing view to the progressive machine was considered an act of evil.
Large contingents within all of these groups were happy to go along with the agenda for numerous reasons.
First and foremost, DEI allowed them to easily game the system. They could snatch up grants, subsidies, welfare, and leapfrog over more talented and more intelligent competitors in education and business simply because of their “marginalized status”.
Secondly, the system under progressives was two-tier; leftists activists, illegals and minorities were given preferential protection while breaking the law and causing chaos. Conservatives were labeled terrorists for any act of defiance. We were banned from the largest web platforms. Some of us were targeted by the online mob and lost our jobs. Others were “de-banked” and threatened with ostracism from the economy. Still others were imprisoned.
This imbalance of the law bred a culture of entitlement, especially within the LGBT cult and the black community. Illegal aliens were given carte blanche to enter the country and feed like parasites. Not only that, but they were treated like heroes coming to save the US from “population decline” and “labor shortages”.
They all participated in the game willfully and joyfully. They were ALL part of the problem. But, of course, none of them ever thought the party would end or that they might end up facing consequences for their behavior. They joined in the feeding frenzy without considering the inevitable clap-back.
The primary argument that leftists would often use to defend the application of cancel culture was that there was “no such thing as cancel culture”, only the righteous utilization of “consequence culture”. This was, of course, a misdirection. The word “consequence” suggests that a person deserves punishment for wrongdoing and that the leftists canceling him (or her) have the right to do so.
Cancel culture was never about justice or karma, it was about suppression of anyone who disagreed with the political left. A corrupt group of psychopathic people with no support from the majority is in no position to dole out consequences. They can dole out harassment and intimidation, but not justice.
In recent months, however, I think these people are finally beginning to understand what “consequence culture” really is and clearly they don’t like it.
We told them over, and over, and over again that the left wouldn’t like it when the “new rules” they were creating got applied to them. And here we are.
Annals of human depravity: “FBI, DOJ arrest ringleaders of dark web child porn exploitation networks with over 120,000 users.”
The Justice Department has announced the results of Operation Grayskull, a sweeping joint investigation with the FBI that dismantled four dark web sites dedicated to child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The operation has so far resulted in 18 convictions across multiple federal districts and significant sentences for offenders involved in the distribution and advertisement of CSAM.
One of the most notable sentences came last week, when Thomas Peter Katsampes, 52, of Eagan, Minnesota, was sentenced to 250 months in prison, lifetime supervised release, and ordered to pay $23,000 in restitution. Katsampes pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to advertise and distribute child pornography. According to court records, he joined one of the dark web sites in 2022, actively advertised and distributed CSAM, including material depicting prepubescent children, and eventually became a site moderator responsible for enforcing posting rules and advising others on sharing illegal content.
The Houston branch of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested 214 illegal aliens who have either been charged with or convicted of child sex offenses over the past six months — more than it arrested in all of Fiscal Year 2024.
Among the five illegal aliens captured and highlighted in an ICE press release published on Monday, four were from Mexico and were deported back there following their arrests. Forty-eight-year-old Jorge Zebra received convictions for two counts of sexual assault of a minor as well as “sexual indecency” with a minor. He was returned to Mexico in March.
Mexicans Sergio Rolando Galvan Guerrero and Jesus Gutierrez Mireles were convicted for “aggravated sexual assault of a child” as well as for Driving While Intoxicated.
Jose Guadalupe Meza, who’s been deported four other times, was convicted of both sexual assault of a child and theft. Meza was deported to Mexico on June 25.
The lone criminal from El Salvador was Manuel Antonio Castro-Juarez, who was convicted for both sexual assault of a child as well as illegal entry, twice. He’ll be sent back to El Salvador for the third time, but is in ICE custody until necessary proceedings are completed.
“Former Texas National Guardsman Convicted of Smuggling Aliens. Mario Sandoval now faces up to 10 years in federal prison.”
A Houston-based former member of the Texas National Guard who once served on the front lines of Operation Lone Star is now facing up to 10 years in prison after a federal jury convicted him of human smuggling.
Mario Sandoval, a 27-year-old Houston resident and former national guardsman, was deployed to the U.S.-Mexico border as part of Operation Lone Star, the Texas-led initiative launched in 2021 to curb illegal immigration. The operation mobilized both the Texas National Guard and Department of Public Safety.
Despite being released from his official orders, Sandoval remained in the Rio Grande Valley and, in July of last year, began smuggling illegal aliens north of the immigration checkpoint. Jurors were shown text messages confirming Sandoval’s coordination in the smuggling operation—including his role arranging drivers and alerting others to law enforcement locations. Surveillance footage also placed him near the checkpoint during the times those messages were sent.
Sandoval was discharged from the Texas National Guard in October 2024. Although he claimed the texts were taken out of context and that no conspiracy existed, a jury found him guilty after a one-day trial and less than an hour of deliberation.
“We live increasingly in a lawless Britain… most people think that Britain has become lawless”, Farage remarked Monday at a press conference to launch a new law and order policy platform.

Farage further suggested that Britain should leave the European Court of Human Rights in order to restore effective criminal deterrence.
Farage maintains that the ECHR undermines the country’s ability to deport foreign criminals, terrorists, and illegal migrants, thereby weakening criminal deterrence.
He contends that exiting the system would remove legal barriers imposed by foreign judges, and allow the UK to swiftly remove dangerous individuals, free up prison space, reduce taxpayer burdens, and send a strong message that crime by non-citizens will result in certain expulsion.
This, in his view, would restore effective deterrence by ensuring consequences are enforced without interference, discouraging both criminal activity and illegal immigration.
Among a range of policies he outlined to avoid a descent into societal collapse, Farage suggested outsourcing hardened criminals to foreign jails and a hard-line three-strikes and you’re out rule, meaning after three convictions there would be no more rehabilitation for offenders.
He noted that one of the most egregious aspects of the collapse is that the government is obsessed with drilling it into the British people that everything is getting better when citizens can see the rampant degradation all around them.
“Huge numbers of law-abiding, taxpaying Britons have also lost respect for the police but in a different way. The idea, the concept that we’re living in a system of two-tier policing and two-tier justice under two-tier Keir has really taken hold,” Farage urged.
Farage noted that crimes such as shoplifting and drug taking have been allowed to become a part of everyday life in cities, and that one in three Londoners have now been victims of mobile phone theft.
He vowed that his party will work to halve crime in five years if elected to parliament by becoming “the toughest party on law and order and on crime that this country has ever seen”, and instituting “zero tolerance policing.”
Farage also floated the idea of Army run centres for repeat petty criminals to be held in and made to undergo a program of reform.
He pointed to Rudy Giuliani’s tenure as Mayor of New York City as an example of how to restore law and order in a broken down society.
The Tories could have been the party of border control and tough on crime policies, but their feckless wet leadership pissed the opportunity away.

Candace Taylor, 35, of Slidell, was arrested Monday after investigators found she underreported her income to qualify for the program. The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation launched its probe after a complaint from the state health department.
The Fox News report says court records say Taylor ran six businesses that brought in over $9.5 million between 2020 and 2024. Bank records show deposits of $480,994, including more than $325,000 linked to her businesses.
“From 2021 through 2024, Ms. Taylor continued to transfer tens of thousands of dollars between her personal and business accounts, with personal inflows consistently exceeding the eligibility thresholds for Medicaid,” the affidavit states.
Despite this, Taylor allegedly kept renewing her benefits—most recently claiming $4,000 in monthly income without disclosing she owned the business.
Authorities say her spending included $45,086 in Audi vehicle payments, a $100,000 wire to an exotic car dealer, and $13,000 for a 2022 Lamborghini Urus. She also allegedly withdrew multiple six-figure cashier’s checks for property, cosmetic surgery, jewelry, and luxury services.
Unless it was very hot or very crashed, there’s no way she paid $13,000 for a Lamborghini Urus, as those things go for over $200,000. Maybe that was a down payment…
