Democrats are stuffing ballot drop boxes with fraudulent votes, and itâs all caught on videotape. He also admits this is how they rigged the 2020 election and why Democrats fight to the death against voter ID.

Democrats are fighting voter ID laws. Itâs a two-sided thing. Thatâs what theyâre fighting over. Republicans are trying to say, âHey, look, we got proof of this sh*t.â
And the Democrats are like, well, we donât want voter ID laws, and we want to make it where you can just drop your ballot offâonline voting and different things they try to come up with.â
Iran manages to shoot down both an F-15 and an A-10 on the same day. Two of the three downed airmen have already been rescued. It’s worth noting that neither of those planes are remotely stealthy.
Earlier this week, Jose Medina-Medina, an illegal immigrant whom the Biden administration caught and released at the border, murdered Loyola University freshman Sheridan Gorman. Medina-Medina had previously been arrested at least twice in Chicago, yet was released by local authorities, thanks to their sanctuary policies. According to reports, he approached her, raised a gun, and opened fire as she tried to flee. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Democratic Partyâs response has been nothing short of horrific.

The reaction from Democrats to Gormanâs death has been so despicable that Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) unloaded on his own party over it.
“Why can’t we just talk about that life lost?” Fetterman told Fox Newsâs Bill Hemmer. “Why can’t we just acknowledge that this is serious, serious failure?”
Fetterman also invoked the Laken Riley Act, the legislation requiring the detention and deportation of illegal immigrants who commit crimes. Fetterman was one of only a handful of Democrats to vote for it â a fact he’s clearly not going to let his colleagues forget.
“I think only seven or eight Democrats even voted for [the] Laken Riley [Act],â he said. “Why can’t you just agree that if you’re breaking the law and you’re already here illegally, deport them? I just don’t understand.”
He continued, “Tragedies like what happened to that young woman, they are gonna continue to happen,” he said. “That’s beyond common sense.”
Hemmer pressed him on why Democrats can’t seem to get there, and Fetterman gave an honest, if uncomfortable, answer.

Multiple senior HHS officials estimate that, under Gavin Newsom, California’s state Medicaid program has lost 25 percent of its budget to fraud. This would mean it is currently losing $50 billion a year to scammers, fraudsters, and organized crime rings.

Earlier this week the U.S. Supreme Court heard oral argument in a case challenging a Mississippi statute allowing mail-in ballot received up to five days after Election Day to be counted.
The law appears to defy three federal laws that require that federal elections be held the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November. The question is what did Congress mean by Election Day. Was it a day, five days later, a month later. Does Election Day mean election season.
The 5th Circuit ruled against Mississippi, which brought the case to SCOTUS. It could have profound impact on Democratsâ mail-in ballot strategy if ballots must be received by election official by Election Day.
I discussed the case and oral argument, plus redistricting and the Equal Protection Projects challenge to discriminatory NY State education practices, with Jesse Kelly, who tweeted out the portion regarding NY State: “It appears Kathy Hochul is defying the Supreme Court.”
Pam Bondi is out as attorney general, President Trump announced Thursday, and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche will serve as acting attorney general.
âPam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year,â Trump said in a statement on Truth Social. âPam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900.â

Pakistani is enjoying a nice, rich dinner of blowback.

They are interested in survival and the expansion of their ideological reach.
Almost nobody talks about it, but we are witnessing the âGaza-ficationâ of the Durand Line. The same knowhow of displacement and grazing the land is being applied to the tribal areas. Millions of thousands of people have already been displaced. But the humanitarian cost is only a footnote in a larger, more brutal calculation.
For Islamabad, this is an existential fight against the TTP thorn in its side. For Kabul, it is about defending the sovereignty they fought for twenty years to reclaim. The âspecial relationshipâ between Islamabad and Kabul has become hatred. The Taliban have proven they can survive an American occupation. Surviving Pakistanâs aggression should not be that hard.

The attack involved a sophisticated mix of long-range unmanned systems, likely between eight and fifteen primary strike drones supported by smaller decoys designed to saturate Russian air defenses. Ukraine has delivered a decisive strategic blow just as Russia expected to capitalize on soaring oil prices driven by the Iran war, but got its export system crippled instead. With unimaginable 40% of its oil export capacity wiped out, ports burning for days, and follow-up strikes continuing, the question is no longer whether Russia can recover quickly, but whether Ukraine will strike again before Russia has the chance to do so.
After over four years of war, Ukraineâs military says itâs testing an exoskeleton in the field that can help soldiers more easily load artillery and run at speeds of up to 12 mph over sustained periods. The tests would mark one of the first known examples of exoskeletons used on the front lines of an active military operation.
A Facebook video shared late last week by Ukraineâs 7th Air Assault Corps shows a handful of soldiers putting on the device while inside of a muddy artillery trench. The device itself wraps around a soldierâs waist and legs and is supported by a back brace. The military claims that it can reduce overall load on leg muscles by 30 percent. In practice, that means the devices should make it easier for soldiers to pick up and load heavy artillery rounds. Each round can weigh upwards of 100 pounds, depending on the particular caliber used. Since a soldier on the battlefield may load several dozen of those runs every day, all of that weight adds up and can increase the odds of injury or fatigue.

Paxtonâs office has now proposed detailed rules to implement the statute. The proposal was submitted to the Secretary of State on March 16 and published in the Texas Register on March 27, triggering a public comment period before the rules can be finalized.
The draft rules flesh out how SB 17 will work in practice, with the Office of the Attorney General as the central enforcement hub for the ban.
One of the most significant features is a new duty to report suspected violations.
Under the proposal, anyone involved in facilitating a real estate transactionâsuch as mortgage lenders, title insurance companies, property insurers, appraisers, and licensed real estate professionalsâwould be required to report any suspected SB 17 violations to the attorney general.
Complaints would have to be submitted either through an online complaint form on the OAGâs website or by mail to a designated address. Failure to report may subject entities to enforcement action once the rules are in place, potentially deputizing the real estate industry to help police foreign adversary land deals.
The rules would also place a tight lid on information that reaches Paxtonâs office.
All complaints, civil investigative demands, and related materials submitted to or issued by the OAG would be treated as confidential and not subject to public disclosure, except when disclosure is required by law. That means Texans may see enforcement actions and lawsuits, but not necessarily the complaints and background investigation files that triggered them.

As thousands of Oracle employees awoke on Tuesday to an email informing them they were being laid off, the workers likely didnât know the tech company had been busy trying to hire foreign staff.
According to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services data, Oracle filed for roughly 3,126 petitions to employ H-1B workers in fiscal years 2025 and 2026. Employers must submit the paperwork when seeking to hire foreign workers in specialty occupations like technology. Some 436 of those petitions were filed this year alone.
Amazon, which in January said it would axe 16,000 corporate employees, has filed for some 2,675 H-1B petitions during the same two-year fiscal period. That came on top of news in October that the retail giant was axing 14,000 corporate workers.

There are all sorts of Constitutional principles that seem to evade the dubious mental grasp of New York Democrats. Yesterday Letita James displayed her ignorance of freedom of religion, freedom of association and the need for the government to avoid viewpoint discrimination when she shut down a Jewish group for opposing jihad.
New York City had Republican mayors within living memory. And in 2024, President Trump had his biggest gains in New York. Especially in the borough of Staten Island where he won 2/3rds of the vote. So now Gov. Hochulâs former lawyer, currently serving as a âjudgeâ, has declared the existence of Republican representation in Staten Island to be âunconstitutionalâ.
A judge on Wednesday threw out the boundaries of the only congressional district in New York City represented by a Republican, ordering the state to redraw its borders because its current composition unconstitutionally dilutes the votes of Black and Hispanic residents.
In his ruling Wednesday, Justice Jeffrey Pearlman said the New York district represented by Republican U.S. Rep. Nicole Malliotakis, which includes all of the borough of Staten Island and a small piece of Brooklyn, should be reconfigured before this yearâs midterm elections.
The lawsuit, filed by an election law firm aligned with the Democratic Party, argued that the lines of the district donât account for a rise in Staten Islandâs Black and Latino population. It pushed for the district to be redrawn to include parts of lower Manhattan, which leans more liberal.
Whoa. Hold up a minute there, Pearlman.
Now I may be just be a simple country Hyper-Chicken blogger, but it seems to me that the criteria Pearlman articulated as the reason for his decision, namely the need to carve out race-conscious districts, is precisely the criteria the Fifth Circuit said you couldn’t use in Petteway v. Galveston County.
Indeed, since partisan advantage was cited as an acceptable guiding principle for redistricting in that same decision, Pearlman could have stood hunched over like Gollum and declared “We hates them the nasty Republicans! Hates them! They keeps deporting our precious illegal alien rapists!” and still been on firmer constitutional ground.
Presumably Pearlman is ignoring the decision because New York isn’t in the Fifth Circuit and the case hasn’t been heard by the Supreme Court yet. But when it is heard, Pearlman has articulated the precise criteria the decision declared unconstitutional as a consideration for redistricting, giving Republicans a ready-made criteria for getting the decision overruled if the Supreme Court (as expected) validates the Fifth Circuit ruling.
The Trump47 Administration’s efforts to control the border continues to rack up win after win, despite the best efforts of Democrats to prevent deportation of their beloved illegal alien felons, so let’s do a quick roundup.
It was another busy weekend for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as federal agents arrested more dangerous and violent criminals and predators whom Democrats want to protect.
From pedophiles to drug traffickers to killers, the illegal alien floods under previous presidents â and particularly under Joe Biden â were plentifully filled with the âworst of the worst,â as ICE puts it. Now the Trump administration faces the monumental task of tracking down and arresting hundreds of thousands of these thugs.
ICE confirmed that it has arrested Noelia Saray Martinez-Avila, an illegal alien from Honduras, who is accused of being drunk when he struck a vehicle while he was driving the wrong direction on a highway. In the July 20 crash, Martinez-Avila killed 18-year-old Hallie Helgeson and severely injured her 19-year-old high school sweetheart Brady Heiling, who subsequently died from his injuries. ICE was able to arrest the homicide suspect despite being in a sanctuary jurisdiction in Wisconsin and having less than an hourâs notice to come make the arrest. Hopefully, justice is coming hard and fast for Martinez-Avila.
On August 16, ICE highlighted other major criminals just arrested by agents. Hilberto Velasquez-Ramirez, for instance, is an illegal alien from Guatemala who was previously convicted of homicide by vehicle in Pottawattamie County, Iowa. Meanwhile, Gilberto Castillo-Talavera, a 29-year-old illegal alien originally from Honduras, has a conviction for sexual assault of a child in Travis County, Texas.
As for Gustavo Jose Gonzalez-Recarey, who came here illegally from Cuba, he was previously convicted of a lewd and lascivious act with a child in Riverside, Calif.
Jhan Carlos Caceres-Peguero is an illegal alien from the Dominican Republic who has a previous conviction for trafficking fentanyl in Essex County, Mass. Finally, Isaiah Alexander, an illegal alien who comes from Jamaica, was convicted of assault in Albion, N.Y. These are just a handful of the criminal illegal aliens ICE has arrested recently.
As liberals, Democrats, and others on the Left continue to disparage the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials, officers in those agencies continue to do their jobs protecting Americans from the worst of the worst violent illegal immigrant criminals in the country. DHS and ICE continue to make the country a safer place.
One of the worst criminals apprehended was Magdeleno Barbosa-Montalvo, a 53-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico. According to DHS, Barbosa-Montalvoâs criminal record includes a heinous act in Vincennes, Indiana, where he was previously convicted of sexual misconduct with a minor. Another who could be filed under the âworst of the worstâ was Adalberto Turcios-Mejia, a 66-year-old illegal immigrant from Honduras whose criminal history includes a conviction for âindecency with a child by contact in Austin, Texas.â
Wow, seems like Austin is quite the hotspot for illegal aliens sexually abusing children.
ICE also arrested known drug traffickers this weekend. These are people who peddle poison, which makes its way to Americans, causing harm in communities throughout the country. One of those apprehended was a 48-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico, Ramon Lopez-Ruiz. According to ICE, Lopez-Ruiz was previously convicted for âtrafficking in cocaine in Durham County, North Carolina.â

But ICEâs work did not stop there. Amid the onslaught of verbal attacks and vilification by Democrats, they arrested Daniel Hernandez-Sanchez, a 32-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico. According to DHS, Hernandez-Sanchez has a long criminal rap sheet, which includes a âconviction for robbery in Mendocino, California.â Also arrested was Cindy Rivas-Cruz, a 32-year-old illegal immigrant from Guatemala. She was convicted of larceny in Draper, Utah, DHS reported.
ICE also arrested Ibrahim Albawaneh, an illegal immigrant from Jordan. His criminal history includes âconvictions for possession of a controlled substance and aggravated assault in Vermillion County, Illinois,â according to the Department of Homeland Security. Another person arrested was Roslandy Garcia-Cruz, an illegal immigrant from Cuba, who, DHS said, had â23 criminal convictions across four different states.â These included crimes where Garcia-Cruz âknowingly and with intent to defraudâ innocent people. He also possessed â15 or more counterfeit or unauthorized access devices, possession of criminal tools, counterfeiting, and probation violation.â
There was also Oscar Pille-Aguilera, an illegal immigrant from Mexico. According to DHS, his criminal history includes âconviction for exploitation of child/elderly/disabled in Collin County, Texas. Omar Balbino-Navarro, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, was also arrested by ICE this weekend. He had a criminal history that included a conviction for carrying a concealed dirk or dagger in Ventura, California, according to DHS.

Democrats are so devoted to keeping illegal immigrants in the country that they are enabling murderous illegal immigrants to stay in the country, and even fighting against their deportations in one notable case.
That case is in New York, where Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul pardoned Somchith Vatthanavong, a Laotian illegal immigrant who killed a man in 1988. Meanwhile, Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy is dealing with the consequences of his anti-deportation laws. Raul Luna-Perez killed two people and injured another while driving drunk, and a New Jersey Superior Court judge has released him pending a trial, despite prosecutors asking for pretrial detention. Luna-Perez had three previous arrests before this fatal crash, including two for DUI, leading Murphyâs team to claim he should have been deported already.
That is the same Phil Murphy whose administration has restricted cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration authorities, and the same Phil Murphy who weirdly claimed that he was harboring an illegal immigrant above his garage and that the authorities could never find her. Luna-Perez was only free to kill two people in a DUI because he wasnât immediately flagged to Immigration and Customs Enforcement by New Jersey police the first time he was arrested for DUI, and the blame for that lies with Murphyâs anti-deportation policies and messaging.
Over the weekend, the leading news story was about Harjinder Singh, an Indian man who killed three people in Florida when he attempted an illegal U-turn on the highway in his semi truck.
The public quickly learned that Singh has been in the United States illegally since 2018, yet was somehow able to get a CDL in California to drive massive trucks across the nation.
People quickly connected Singh’s name to another man named Harjinder Singh who attempted to drive a semi over a small bridge in Arkansas in January 2019, collapsing it.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said, âOn August 15, ICE arrested Leidy Tatiana Mafla-Martinez, a criminal illegal alien from Colombia who was convicted for driving under the influence in Los Angeles.â
âThis criminal illegal alien entered the country in 2022 and was RELEASED by the Biden administration,â she added.
âDuring her arrest, Martinez claimed to experience shortness of breath. She was given proper medical treatment and will be held in ICE custody pending removal proceedings,â the DHS official continued.
DHS said that some witnesses tried to interfere with the arrest, with one person towing away a government vehicle.
McLaughlin stated, âDuring the arrest, an individual unlawfully towed a government police vehicle. He mocked and videotaped ICE officers chasing after him.â

Elon Musk, the former head of the Department of Government Efficiency, on Tuesday dismissed President Trumpâs âbig, beautifulâ spending bill as a âdisgusting abomination.â
âThis massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination,â he said in a post on X.
âShame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it,â he added.
Muskâs comments on Tuesday represent an even harsher reaction to the bill than his previous criticisms. Last month, he said he was âdisappointedâ by the House passage of the bill because it undermines the work he has done as the head of DOGE.
âThe president already knows where Elon Musk stood on this bill,â White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told reporters on Tuesday. âIt doesnât change the presidentâs opinion.â
While the bill aims to cut $1.5 trillion in government spending, it also increases the debt limit by $4 trillion. The U.S. government is more than $36 trillion in debt.
The bill would extend the 2017 tax cuts, introduce new tax cuts such as Trumpâs signature âno tax on tipsâ policy, and add work requirements to Medicaid, among other provisions.
The measure passed 215 to 214 in the House, largely along party lines after Speaker Mike Johnson was able to overcome opposition from members of his caucus who argued the bill should include further spending cuts to offset tax cuts that will add to the countryâs deficit.

Beyond entitlement reform, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget offers users an option in a fix-the-debt-yourself game. Among the options are medical-malpractice reform (saving the U.S. government $40 billion over ten years), allowing private plans to compete with Medicare ($360 billion over ten years), banning state Medicare matching gimmicks ($830 billion over ten years), rescinding Inflation Reduction Act climate tax credits ($780 billion over ten years), and repealing and replacing student-debt cancellation ($320 over ten years). Enact all of those, and thatâs another $233 billion per year or so.
The administration of California Governor Gavin Newsom held closed-door talks on trade cooperation with Chinese officials on Monday, ahead of the anniversary of the Chinese Communist Partyâs massacre at Tiananmen Square.
The meeting will take place on the sidelines of the China-California Business Forum, an annual summit hosted by the Chinese consulate general in Los Angeles at the cityâs ritzy Biltmore Hotel. Last month, a federal grand jury in Tennessee indicted Abrego Garcia, who was deported two months ago from Maryland to El Salvador.
Prosecutors say Abrego Garcia was involved in a nearly decade-long conspiracy to transport thousands of illegal immigrants from Texas to other areas around the country. The illegal immigrants, some of whom were members of the MS-13 gang, came from Mexico and Central America.
âThe grand jury found that over the past nine years Abrego Garcia has played a significant role in an alien smuggling ring,â Attorney General Pam Bondi said Friday. âThey found this was his full-time job. Not a contractor. He was a smuggler of humans and children and women. He made over 100 trips, the grand jury found, smuggling people throughout our country.â
While the allegations were not included in the May 21 indictment, Bondi said that Abrego Garcia also solicited nude images from a minor and was linked to the murder of a rival gang memberâs mother. Co-conspirators also accused Abrego Garcia of assaulting women whom he transported across the country and claimed he was also involved in trafficking firearms and narcotics.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who has pledged that Florida is âwhere woke goes to die,â remained oddly reticent about Onoâstating first that he trusted the process, and later that the governors (15 of the 17 governors were appointed by DeSantis), should follow their consciences in deciding Onoâs fate.

Apparently not, given the Democrats have now lost the presidency, the House, and the Senate. The Supreme Court is conservative. They have no power to subpoena anyone; they cannot block any nomination. Much of their old administrative state control is eroding. All the main issuesâthe economy, energy, border security, illegal immigration, crime, DEI/woke, and foreign policyâpoll against the Democrats. The more they shouted that biological men must be able to compete as transgendered females in womenâs sports, the more that 80% of the public disagreed, women were turned off, and the absurd idea was exploded by Trump.
The power of the administrative state, the legacy network news, print media, and Silicon Valleyâs social media and search engines, the billions that poured into the Biden and Harris campaign all went for naught.

Given that collective meltdown, what would a sane Democratic Party do?

Instead, they began to embrace legal-only immigration, secure borders, balanced budgets, support for law enforcement, and meritocracy.

New Jersey Democratic governor Patrick Murphy idiotically virtue-signaled that he would defy the law, as he bragged that he was harboring an illegal alien living above his garage.
Then, when apprised that such performance-art showboating was a felony, in theory entailing a long prison sentence, the now buffoonish governor changed his narrative that the occupant of his garage was not really illegally living above his garage.
Democratic governors and mayors vie, bragging that they will be foremost in breaking the law by impeding the efforts of the federal immigration services to find and deport illegal aliensâfor now, half a million criminals. The plaintiffs sought access to the vast trove of documents the FDA relied on to approve Pfizerâs vaccine.
Initially, the FDA proposed a slow release schedule. In November 2021, the agency stated it would release just 500 pages per monthâa pace that would have stretched the full disclosure process to 75 years.
However, in January 2022, District Judge Mark Pittman of Texas rejected the FDAâs proposal, ordering the agency to expedite its release to 55,000 pages per month, aiming to complete the disclosure of all 450,000 pages by August 2022.
As the documents trickled out, researchers began uncovering glaring gaps that prevented a systematic review of the data. These gaps fueled suspicions about what else the FDA might be withholding.
It became evident that the FDA had withheld records directly tied to its emergency use authorisation of Pfizerâs vaccine, estimated to be over one million pages.
These documents, which the FDA had full knowledge of, were excluded from earlier disclosures, effectively misleading the judiciary and undermining public trust.

A recent focus group composed of Arizona swing voters, including those who previously backed Joe Biden, revealed a striking consensus on this issue: they overwhelmingly approve of Trump’s agenda and Elon Muskâs efforts with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to make government more efficient. âEvery Arizona swing voter in our latest Engagious/Sago focus groups said they approve of President Trump’s actions since taking office â and most also support Elon Musk’s efforts to slash government,â reports Axios.
Vice President JD Vance confronted European leaders at the Munich Security Conference on Friday over their support for authoritarian restrictions on speech, putting the assembled dignitaries on notice that the Trump administration expects the continent to revive its commitment to Western values.
âThe threat that I worry most about vis-Ă -vis Europe is not Russia, not China, itâs not any other external actor. What I worry about is the threat from within, the retreat of Europe from some of its most fundamental values,â Vance said. âWhen I look at Europe today, itâs not clear what happened to some of the Cold Warâs winners.â
The vice president recited a litany of examples, taken from across Europe, in which governments cracked down on politically disfavored ideas.
In Brussels for example, officials notified citizens that they would shut down social media platforms âduring times of civil unrestâ if users post so-called hateful content. Vance also cited examples taken from Germany, where âpolice have carried out raids against citizens suspected of posting anti-feminist comments onlineâ; Sweden, where a judge recently explained to a man accused of participating in a Koran burning that he does not have âa free pass to do or say anything without risking offending the group that holds that belief,â; and the United Kingdom, where citizens can be arrested for silently praying within 200 meters of an abortion facility.
âIn Britain, and across Europe, free speech, I fear is in retreat,â Vance said.
The vice president lamented Europeâs abandonment of other democratic values, such as border security, he said, adding that Europeans should work with anti-immigration factions to address the record-breaking influx of illegal immigrants into Europe.
âWhile the Trump administration is very concerned with European security and believes that we can come to a reasonable settlement between Russia and Ukraine, [we] also believe that itâs important in the coming years for Europe to step up in a big way to provide for its own defense,â Vance said.
A majority of French, German, Dutch, Italian, and Portuguese citizens believe that their countries should have stricter border security measures to curb illegal immigration, according to a poll conducted by the nonprofit EU-US Forum and the Tyson Group. Most respondents from France, Italy, Portugal, and the Netherlands also agree that âI am more worried today than I was a decade ago about government censorship of my ideas,â according to the same poll.

Gov. Greg Abbott delivered his State of the State address several days ago, outlining his priorities for the 89th Legislative Session and listing his emergency items, which included an unexpected addition â the creation of a Texas Cyber Command.

In the friendliest possible format â a joint interview with VP nominee and emotional-support midwesterner Tim Walz, conducted by Dana Bash with the delicacy of an ornithologist gently hand-feeding hatchling chicks â Harris has revealed that her gaseously mindless word-cloud of a campaign is in fact an accurate reflection of her own personal vacuousness.
To be sure, Harris did not memorably self-destruct tonight. Whatever her failings, they are not those of Joe Biden, who couldnât even articulate his words without slurring by the end. Her inarticulateness tonight was of the sort already known to be a Harris trademark, the endless jumble of nonsensical, comically vapid stock language. When she could fall back on a memorized list of talking points, she presented somewhat normally; the second she was required to respond directly to a question, then she began to spin out otiose nonsense like a pasta chef catering a Sicilian banquet. You could practically see the gears turning inside her head as she cast her eyes downward, stared laser-beams into the floor, and groped for cliches. She was more muted tonight than usual â her aides clearly ordered her never to display mirth under any circumstances, for fear the Kamala Kackle might emerge â and as a result, while she simulated sobriety for the most part, her body language was pronouncedly downbeat.
And all throughout she offered no answers to any policy questions whatsoever, nor any explanation for her various changes of position between 2020 and now. In theory, Bash asked most of the âright questionsâ; in practice, the way she solicitously asked them â sometimes even helpfully offering in advance a multiple-choice list of acceptable answers for Harris to choose from â turned them into cream puffs that Harris immediately used to serve up word salad.
Bashâs most pointed moment was when she pushed Harris about why she changed her position on a national fracking ban between 2020 and the present campaign. Harrisâs answer was little more than, âWell, because I changed my mind when I became Joe Bidenâs VP.â In the real world, anyone familiar with politics well understood that her âpositionâ changed because Joe Biden â the presidential nominee â demanded it, and no other reason. Which of course is why itâs impossible to believe her when she says this is now her sincerely held view, as opposed to something to later be discarded once she can set her own priorities.
Eric Weinstein told Chris Williamson on the “Modern Wisdom” podcast that Donald Trumpâs presidency has disrupted the old “rules-based international order,” which many view as an attempt to control global stability and wondered if the Republican nominee will “be allowed” to reenter the White House if elected in 2024. Weinstein argued that Trumpâs unorthodox approach challenged the status quo, exposing flaws in the system and revealing that the impact of populist leaders on democracy and international agreements is more complex and significant than previously understood.

ERIC WEINSTEIN: I think thereâs a remarkable story, and weâre in a funny game, which is: are we allowed to say what that story is? Because to say it, to analyze it, to name it, is to bring it into view. I think we donât understand why the censorship is behaving the way it is. We donât understand why itâs in the shadows or why our news is acting in a bizarre fashion. So letâs just set the stage, given that that was in February.
There is something that I think Mike Benz has just referred to as the rules-based international order. Itâs an interlocking series of agreements, tacit understandings, explicit understandings, and clandestine understandings about how the most important structures keep the world free of war and keep markets open. There has been a system in place, whether understood explicitly or behind the scenes or implicitly, that says the purpose of the two American parties is to prune the field of populist candidates so that whatever two candidates exist in a faceoff are both acceptable to that world order.
From the point of view of, say, the State Department, the intelligence community, the defense department, and major corporations involved in international issuesâfrom arms trade to, oh, I donât know, foodâthey have a series of agreements that are fragile and could be overturned if a president entered the Oval Office who didnât agree with them. And if the mood of the country was, âWhy do we pay taxes into these structures? Why are we hamstrung? Why arenât we a free people?â So what the two parties would do is run primaries with populist candidates and pre-commit the populist candidates to support the candidates who won the primaries. As long as that took place and you had two candidates that were both acceptable to the international orderâthat is, they arenât going to rethink NAFTA or NATO or what have youâwe called that democracy. And so democracy was the illusion of choice, whatâs called magicianâs choice, where the choice is not actually, you know, âpick a card, any card,â but somehow the magician makes sure that the card that you pick is the one that he knows.
In that situation, you have magicianâs choice in the primaries, and then youâd have the duopoly field: two candidates, either of which was acceptable, and you could actually afford to hold an election. That way, the international order wasnât put at risk every four years because you canât have alliances that are subject to the whim of the people in plebiscites.
Under that structure, everything was going fine until 2016, when the first candidate ever to not hold any position in the military nor any position in government in the history of the Republic, Donald Trump, broke through the primary structure. Then there was a full court press: âOkay, we only have one candidate thatâs acceptable to the international order. Donald Trump will be under constant pressureâheâs a loser, heâs a wild man, heâs an idiot, and heâs under control of the Russians.â And then he was going to be, you know, a 20-to-1 underdog, and then he wins. There was no precedent for this. They learned their lesson: you cannot afford to have candidates who are not acceptable to the international order and continue to have these alliances. This is an unsolved problem.
A Missouri man is facing federal charges following a series of alleged violent threats made via social media against former President Donald Trump, Republicans at large, and law enforcement officers, according to a criminal complaint filed in the Western District of Missouri on Aug. 30.
Justin Lee White, 36, is accused of using interstate communication to spread a slew of online threats to injure Trump, Republicans, and law enforcement in violation of federal law, culminating in a multi-agency investigation led by the FBI, according to the complaint.
Speaking of Trump assassination attempts, DHS personnel assigned to the protective detail for Trump’s Butler rally were given rigorous training. And by “rigorous training” I mean “they sat through a two hour webinar.”
Remember that “Harris Surge” in polls? Yet again, it was a case of oversampling.
As we’ve been highlighting since 2016, polls are not to be trusted thanks to various ‘tricks of the trade’ – most commonly, oversampling.
Last month we noted how the founder of the main outside spending group backing Kamala Harris for president says their own internal opinion polling is “much less rosy” than public polls.
“Our numbers are much less rosy than what you’re seeing in the public,” said Future Forward super PAC president Chauncey McLean said during a Monday event hosted by the University of Chicago Institute of Politics.
Now, the Washington Times reports that some pollsters are even sounding the alarm over Vice President Kamala Harris’ so-called ‘surge’ in the polls – which Harris pulled ahead in after replacing President Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee on July 21.
Since the switch, Harris is leading Trump nationally by nearly 2 percentage points and is either leading or tied with him in all seven battleground states. However, Republican analysts argue that these polling numbers may not accurately reflect voter sentiment due to biased polling methodology…
Critics point out that many polls have been sampling a disproportionately smaller share of Republican voters compared to exit poll data from the 2020 presidential election. The result, they say, is a misleading “phantom advantage” for Ms. Harris. According to them, this skewed sampling could be a strategic move to boost enthusiasm and fundraising for Ms. Harris’ campaign.
Trump campaign strategist Jim McLaughlin echoed this sentiment, stating, “They undersample Republicans” intentionally “to tamp down support and donations for Trump.” He added that the polls are part of a larger effort to create a narrative that favors Harris.
Trump has openly criticized the poll results. âItâs fake news,â Trump declared during a rally in Michigan. âThey can make those polls sing.â

Another week, another high profile Democrat’s aide turns out to be a Chinese spy.
Linda Sun, a former aide to New York governor Kathy Hochul, acted at the direction of Chinese government and Chinese Communist Party officials while serving in state government, federal prosecutors alleged in an indictment Tuesday.
In a statement, the U.S. attorneyâs office in the Eastern District of New York said that Sun was arrested Tuesday morning with her husband, Christopher Hu. They were expected to be arraigned later in the day.
Sun is a former deputy chief of staff to Kathy Hochul and has served in numerous roles throughout New York State government since her first post under the administration of former governor Andrew Cuomo in 2012. Before that, she served as Representative Grace Mengâs chief of staff, when the Queens Democrat served in the New York State assembly.
âAs alleged, while appearing to serve the people of New York as deputy chief of staff within the New York State Executive Chamber, the defendant and her husband actually worked to further the interests of the Chinese government and the CCP,â U.S. Attorney Breon Peace said.
The federal government is alleging that Sun was an unregistered agent of the Chinese government and that her husband engaged in money-laundering while they benefited from millions of dollars in bribes from Chinese officials.
The indictment details a shocking pattern of collaboration with Chinaâs consulate general in New York, with Sun at one point in 2020 letting a Chinese diplomat listen in on a private conference call for New York officials regarding the state governmentâs response to the Covid pandemic.
Chinese-government and CCP officials directed her to block Taiwanese officials from engaging with officials from New York. Beijing views the current government of Taiwan as a traitorous separatist movement and wants to annex the country.
According to court documents, Taiwanâs de facto consulate in New York City invited an unnamed politician, a description that matches the profile of then-governor Andrew Cuomo, to attend a banquet honoring then-Taiwanese president Tsai Ing-wen during her stopover in the city in 2019. Sun forwarded information about the invite to a Chinese official, telling that individual, âI sent you an email / Just an FYI / I already blocked it.â She then declined the invitation without consulting other New York executive chamber officials.
When Sun later asked a colleague to check if the politician was registered for the banquet, that staff member said that it was not on the schedule. Sun replied: âPerfect!â
She also manipulated messaging from the New York governorâs office, while consulting Chinese diplomats, the indictment stated.
Federal agents on Wednesday zeroed in on the highest ranks of Mayor Eric Adamsâs administration, searching a home and seizing the phones of the New York City police commissioner, the first deputy mayor, the schools chancellor and others, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

Among the other officials the federal investigators sought information from were the deputy mayor for public safety and a senior adviser to the mayor who is one of his closest confidants, the people said. Both men have had other legal challenges.
The agents also searched the home and seized the phone of a consultant who is the brother of both the schools chancellor and one of the deputy mayors, the people said.
The nature of the investigations is unclear, but it appears that one is focused on the senior City Hall officials and the other touches on the police commissioner, the people said.

Several of the officials had their phones seized or records of their communications subpoenaed.

President Trump endorses marijuana decriminalization vote. “Florida’s Amendment 3, titled Recreational Marijuana, would allow adults who are at least 21 years of age have up to 3 ounces of marijuana (a ‘small amount’?) and up to 5 grams of marijuana concentrate. At present, the state only allows medical patients with qualifying conditions to legally buy and possess cannabis.” Marijuana prohibition hasn’t worked. Full-bore marijuana legalization seems to have brought a whole host of problems, especially in blue states. Florida will provide another statewide laboratory of democracy to calibrate an approach.

The head of Harris Countyâs Public Health Department, who was fired last week, has also been working for a California county since last January. Questions are swirling about her work in Texas, including her role in awarding a contract for sending mental health workers instead of police on some 911 calls.
Sources also say there is a pending criminal investigation into the countyâs health department and related contracts.
County officials announced last Friday that Executive Director of Harris County Public Health Barbie Robinson had been dismissed, just days after the Houston Chronicle reported on communications surrounding a $6 million contract awarded to DEMA, a California-based company, to run the countyâs Holistic Assistance Response Teams (HART).
The Texan has learned that in January 2024, Robinson also contracted with Yuba County, California to provide services for a three-year period. Robinsonâs work for Yuba Countyâs public health department provides her with nearly $200,000 in compensation for hundreds of hours of work, all while managing Harris Countyâs public health department.
Sources familiar with the matter say that Robinson claimed to have obtained approval from former County Administrator David Berry and the County Attorneyâs Office to engage in the additional work, but that current County Administrator Diana Ramirez was unable to confirm Robinsonâs claims.
Other sources indicate that the Harris County District Attorneyâs Office (HCDAO) has been investigating Robinson and nearly a dozen other individuals with the county, HART, and DEMA for several months.
This week, the McLennan County District Attorneyâs Office dismissed murder charges against two Houston men involved in the self-defense incident at a party near the Baylor University campus, finally determining it was a justifiable homicide. While that was good news to Calvin Nichols Jr., it hardly makes up for the 635 days the man spent locked up in jail while the DAâs office slowly dragged its feet over the case.
According to police reports, on the night in question Nichols and his cousin, Jaytron Damon Scott, were invited to a party attended by a number of Baylor students, including football players. According to partygoers, Joseph Craig Thomas Jr. showed up uninvited and began threatening others with a gun, including a female student who asked him to move his car.
He later stuck a gun under the chin of a Baylor football player. And when Scott and Nichols were leaving the party, Thomas began to pistol whip Nichols.
Thatâs when Scott, acting in defense of his cousin, fired his pistol at Thomas, striking him multiple times and killing him. Murder charges were then filed against Scott and Nichols, a fact that Scottâs attorney, Bryan Cantrell, found unbelievable.
âI donât know how this case got indicted,â Cantrell told KWTX.com. âThis was the clearest self-defense case I have ever seen. And I think the problem is a lot of attorneys and, certainly the people of the community, donât understand the law of self-defense.â
You would hope that the end of Abel Reyna’s term as McLennan County DA put a stop to this sort of thing, but evidently not.

According to private property rights advocates, American Stewards of Liberty (ASL), examples of environmental services include âthe air we breathe, photosynthesis, pollination, and even the health benefits of open space.â
Specifically, the new law allows private funds to be used for conservation efforts on private land. The USDA will oversee the program, and the Secretary, preparing its implementation, will also decide who owns the environmental service.
Although the public may still provide the USDA with comments about the plan until September 16, 2024, ASL refers to the new law as âcritical for proponents of the United Nationsâ sustainable development agenda to achieve.â
The private property rights advocates see the program as a means to âprovide the path to transfer Americaâs real assets from private citizens to federal and international interests.â

The FBI is going to resume its coordination with social-media companies on content moderation ahead of the 2024 election, after the Supreme Court dealt a blow to free-speech advocates who argue the federal governmentâs close cooperation with Big Tech firms violates the First Amendment.
According to a Department of Justice memo drafted earlier this month, the FBI âwill resume regular meetings in the coming weeks with social media companies to brief and discuss potential [Foreign Malign Influence] threats involving the companiesâ platforms.â
By “Foreign Malign Influence,” what they mean, of course, is “the possibility of a Trump victory.”
The memo is featured in a report from DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz on the effectiveness of the departmentâs information-sharing system for monitoring foreign threats to U.S. elections. National Review has reached out to the FBI for comment on the memo.
Horowitz recommended the DOJ increase its transparency around the policies it put in place to ensure information sharing does not trample on the First Amendment, and to ensure the coordination strategy evolves to keep up with ever-changing foreign threats. The reportâs appendix says both of the recommendations have been taken up by the DOJ, and requests documentation of the FBIâs outreach to social-media companies over the coming months.
The FBIâs Foreign Influence Task Force (FITF) and local offices will be tasked with building relationships with social-media companies in areas under the purview of various FBI field offices. As part of this outreach strategy, FBI officials are being instructed to make companies aware of the new standard operating procedure for monitoring suspected foreign influence operations online.

Acting Secret Service Director Ronald Rowe was directly involved in denying additional security resources and personnel, including counter snipers, to former President Trumpâs rallies and events â despite repeated requests by the agents assigned to Trumpâs detail in the two years leading up to his July 13 attempted assassination, according to several sources familiar with the decision-making.
Rowe succeeded former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, who resigned last week after bipartisan calls following her widely panned testimony before the House Oversight Committee. But both Rowe and Cheatle were directly involved in decisions denying requests for more magnetometers, additional agents, and other resources to help screen rallygoers at large, outdoor Trump campaign gatherings.

The Democratic Party ruling classâs bloodless coup of their own democratically elected presidential nominee, who also happens to be the nominal sitting president of the United States, is one of the most astonishing political developments of my lifetime. Joe Biden, though clearly physically and mentally impaired, has sought the presidency for quite literally longer than I have been alive. Biden had been defiant ever since the June 27 presidential debate debacle that he was not going anywhere, despite overwhelming pressure from party elites and sycophantic media lapdogs demanding he do precisely that. He has a Lady Macbeth-like wife who craves power, and he has a felonious son in desperate need of a presidential pardon.
Yet the coup succeeded. Biden became the first incumbent president to not seek reelection after his first term since Lyndon B. Johnson in 1968. Biden made the much-anticipated announcementânot with a solemn Oval Office addressâthree days later, and he didnât even explain his decision. Rather, he issued a bedridden tweet from a personal, not even official, account. Itâs the equivalent of divorcing your wife over text message. As if that werenât crazy enough, the announcement came smack in the middle of a five-day period in which Biden was not publicly seen and during which he apparently experienced an unspecified medical emergency. Suspicious much?
The Democratsâ decision to coup their own president is a curious one, on the political merits.
Hold aside the galling hypocrisy of the purported party of âdemocracyâ trying to remove former President Donald Trump from the ballot under an outlandish constitutional theory while simultaneously attempting to bankrupt, prosecute and incarcerate him on equally spurious grounds. Hold aside the self-proclaimed party of âdemocracy,â feigning ignorance over how its overheated rhetoric laid the seeds for their political opponentâs recent near-assassination and its continuing to depict that opponent as an existential threat to the American constitutional order. And hold aside that purportedly âdemocraticâ party deposing its own presumptive elected nomineeâa stark reversal from its presidential primary, when party poobahs worked hard to shut out all viable competition. Somewhere in Minnesota, Dean Phillips would like a word.
Hold all that aside. Because even on its own terms, the coup of Biden for cackler-in-chief Kamala Harris is going to spectacularly backfire on the Democrats.
Already, Democrats and the corporate media have been working hard to âdefineâ Harris for the American people. At times, this has included some rather dubious retconning, such as magically pretending she wasnât the Biden administrationâs appointed âborder czar.â (She was.) But the even bigger problem for Democrats is that Harris is not an unknown commodity. On the contrary, she is a very well-known commodityâone who just happens to be about as popular with the American public as venereal disease.
Harrisâ current average approval rating is under 38%, and an NBC News poll last June found her to be the single least popular vice president in American historyâonly 32% of Americans had a positive view of her, putting her 17 points underwater. Harrisâ 2020 presidential campaign was an absolute dud, self-imploding well before the first primary votes were cast. And as recently as a month or two ago, Democratic elites were openly discussing whether she could still be dropped as Bidenâs 2024 running mate. Funny how quickly one can go from the weakest link to the great savior of âOur Democracy.â
Practically, the path to winning 270 Electoral College votes still runs through the Rust Belt states of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. It is frankly bizarre for Democrats to swap out the man who talks ceaselessly about his hardscrabble Scranton upbringing for a Californian who boasts the most left-wing voting record of any presidential nominee in modern history. Do Democrats really think Harrisâ support for the Green New Deal and a national fracking ban will play well in the Marcellus Shale of Pennsylvania or in the auto factories of Detroit? Will white working- and middle-class voters concerned about skyrocketing crime look favorably upon Harrisâ enthusiastic support for the 2020 Black Lives Matter riots, which racked up $2 billion worth of property damage?

Early in the morning, the FBI raided the home of Linda Sun, a former official for Gov. Kathy Hochulâs administration. Sun served as Hochulâs deputy chief of staff for a year. Before that, she was the deputy superintendent for intergovernmental affairs and chief diversity officer under disgraced former Governor Andrew Cuomo. The federal officers searched the $3.5 million home, which resides in the exclusive neighborhood of North Shore.
That’s on top of a raid aimed at Winnie Greco, a top aide to New York Mayor Eric Adams.
While the left is trying it’s hardest to recast Kamala Harris as a moderate Democrat – quietly scrubbing her public record over the past 5 years – her actual positions have always been radical.
For starters, she’s on record wanting to abolish ICE (which she compared to the KKK), letting criminals like the Boston Marathon bomber and rapists vote, ban fracking and offshore drilling, defund the police, provide US taxpayer subsidized healthcare to illegals, and ban private health insurance.
Meanwhile, during 2020 Democratic primary debate Harris said that if elected president, she would “ban by executive order the importation of assault weapons.”
She also said she would reinstate Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status and DACA protection for illegal immigrants, and end other Trump-era immigration policies.
And in multiple speeches and interviews, Harris insisted America needed racial ‘equity’ as well as ‘equality.’ In other words, she endorses ‘equality of outcomes’ over ‘equality of opportunity.’

âThe archive is deep,â said Brad Todd, a Republican strategist and ad maker who is working with David McCormick, the G.O.P. Senate candidate in Pennsylvania, among other campaigns. âWe will run out of time before we run out of video clips of Kamala Harris saying wacky California liberal things. Iâm just not sure that the rest of this campaign includes much besides that.â
To that end, McCormick’s campaign has produced one of the first TV ads to attack Harris on her longstanding positions.
Yet, according to the Times, nevermind all that- Harris is now a reformed moderate – and has suddenly reversed course on virtually all of her most radical views.
On Friday, the Harris campaign announced that she no longer wants to ban fracking – a ‘significant shift’ from where she stood four years ago. She’s also reversed course on funding for border enforcement, no longer supports a single-payer health insurance program, and has walked back liberal fever dreams of a mandatory gun buyback.
She is no longer pushing for a single-payer health care system, and on Friday her campaign said she would maintain Mr. Bidenâs pledge not to raise income taxes on people making less than $400,000 per year. -NYT
Packing the Court? Nah…
On Monday, as Mr. Biden prepared a speech in Texas calling for term limits and ethics guidelines for Supreme Court justices, the Trump campaign resurfaced statements Ms. Harris made in 2019 saying she was âopen to this conversationâ about expanding the Supreme Court. Ms. Harris, in a statement released by her campaign, endorsed Mr. Bidenâs proposal, which does not call for adding additional justices to the court.
According to Matt Bennett, a co-founder of Third Way, a moderate Democratic think tank, Harris has ‘evolved’ into a Biden style centrist (if centrism is defined as letting 20+ million illegals into the country and cooking Americans with inflation).
“Thereâs a tremendous difference in changing oneâs policy ideas and changing oneâs principles,” said Bennett. “She has not changed her principles. She still thinks climate change is an existential threat â she just doesnât think the Green New Deal is the way to address it.”

The Times also hints that Harris is essentially an idiot who didn’t really understand her own positions while running for president in 2020.

She would go on to propose an array of policies popular with progressives. She sought to increase pay for public-school teachers by an average of $13,500 through a bump in the estate tax.
She also called for an assault weapons ban and said she would sign an executive order mandating background checks for customers of any dealer who sold more than five guns in a year.
Minnesota governor Tim Walz is on the short list to be Vice President Kamala Harrisâs running mate. This is almost laughable when you look at Walzâs record running the state government, which somehow manages to combine the honesty of former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich, the competence of former Louisiana governor Kathleen Blanco, and the sharp-eyed ethical-watchdog instincts of soon-to-be-former New Jersey senator Bob Menendez. A whole lot of shady and unethical people in Minnesota see the state government as a giant pile of money just waiting to be taken, with a sleepy guard in the form of the governor.

Everyone in the House knows that their defeated colleagues earned challengers because Phelan made them vulnerable⌠and then left them to go down in defeat.
But he is, for now, still the speaker⌠in name, anyway.
Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick was publicly done with Phelan more than a year ago after the speaker and his cronies sent a deeply flawed, legally problematic, and factually vacuous âimpeachmentâ of Attorney General Ken Paxton to be sorted out by the Senate.

Now the Biden has been pushed out, a whole lot of big money Democratic donors are suddenly back in.
ActBlue, the Democratsâ online fundraising platform, announced on Sunday that small-dollar donors had donated nearly $50 million in just several hours after Vice President Kamala Harris launched her presidential campaign.
âAs of 9 p.m. ET, grassroots supporters have raised $46.7 million through ActBlue following Vice President Kamala Harrisâ campaign launch,â ActBlue said in a statement. âThis has been the biggest fundraising day of the 2024 cycle. Small-dollar donors are fired up and ready to take on this election.â
Harris launched her campaign after President Joe Biden announced that he was ending his reelection campaign and was endorsing Harris following weeks of intense pressure from the media and members of his party to quit.
While Biden endorsed Harris, many top Democrats did not, including former President Barack Obama, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).
Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) will not seek his party’s nomination for president. Another potential rival to Harris, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich.), endorsed Harris on Sunday. Both Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.) and Gov. Phil Murphy (D-N.J.) threw their support behind Harris. Former Democrat (but still senator) Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.) briefly considered making a run but dropped that hot potato almost instantly.
“When President Biden picked Kamala Harris to be his Vice President he unleashed incredible excitement for a new generation of political leadership,” Hochul said in a statement. “That same energy will carry us to November 5 with Vice President Harris leading our ticket.”
âIâm very enthusiastic about Kamala Harris,â Newsom said during a Sunday interview with MSNBCâs Chris Hayes. “I think the American people could not do better.”

Nobody wants to run against Trump. He has a couple of weaknesses, his relatively high disapproval rating being one of them. But if he were truly weak, power-hungry sharks like Newsom and Whitmer would be gathering in the bloody waters to finish off Harris before trying to make a meal out of Trump.
But Trump can serve only one term. The sharks have four years to let the chaos in their party die down, build up their organizations, and make a real run for the White House in 2028. Assuming, of course, that Harris loses.
Privately, Hochul, Newsom, et al. must be fuming. If Biden had dropped out last summer, as the semi-invalid should have, there could have been a real primary. Instead, the Cabal rigged the game for Biden, and now they’re stuck with Harris.
The Harris campaign certainly know how to reach out to swing state America: the campaign’s new deputy press secretary is a drag queen. “Eric Lipka, who recently worked for Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), has been appointed as the Biden-Harris campaign’s deputy press secretary for Pennsylvania. According to Lipka’s social media profiles, he is a traveling ‘drag queen’ on the weekends. In an X post on July 17, Lipka revealed, ‘Thrilled to share I’ve joined the Biden-Harris campaign as deputy press secretary for Pennsylvania!'”
Joe Bidenâs in much, much rougher shape â physically and mentally â than anyone at the White House has been willing to admit. The evidence pointing towards this isnât just the terrible debate â you know, the historically early debate that he and his team proposed. (âMake my day, pal!â)
And itâs not just that we didnât see a genuinely, indisputably good performance from Biden after the debate, either, just variations of âmarginally less bad.â He told George Stephanopoulos he didnât think he watched the debate, claimed Trump was shouting during his answers, and falsely claimed he âdid ten major events in a row, including until 2:00 in the morning after the debate.â In his NATO summit press conference, Biden claimed he was doing ânot badâ in fundraising since the debate when actually his fundraising numbers had dropped like a stone, mixed up Trump and Harris, and insisted that no poll suggested he had no shot at beating Trump.
The self-pitying irritability displayed in the Lester Holt interview, his inability to remember the name of his own secretary of defense in his interview with BET â it all reaffirmed that there was no better, sharper, less doddering version of Joe Biden waiting to emerge from behind the curtain.
And most of these appearances were taped between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. â i.e., Biden in his best hours. What we were seeing was the good Joe Biden. Imagine what heâs like when heâs groggy in the morning or tired in the evenings.
But one final factor really makes me think that Biden is in a condition where his staff believes he must not be seen by the American public. Itâs that he made an announcement that ranks among the most important and consequential statements from a president in history in a letter posted on Twitter/X.
He didnât do it on camera. We didnât hear his voice. We didnât see him at all on Sunday. As of this writing, Biden hasnât been seen Monday, and is not scheduled to make any appearances today. Bidenâs last public event was a radio interview with Univision at 12:15 local time in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
Indeed, the suddenness of Biden’s pullout-via-tweet is pretty mysterious.

It actually happened. Joe Biden has succumbed to the pressure campaign from within his own party apparatus and has endorsed Kamala Harris. Assuming the Democrat convention moves forward with her coronation…er, I mean election…expect her campaign to center on three issues: abortion, abortion, and abortion. As of this writing, Biden had won 3904 delegates, whereas 5, 3, and zero had gone to Democratic challengers Jason Palmer, Dean Phillips, and Marianne Williamson, respectively. There were no delegates for Kamala Harris, or for Gretchen Whitmer, Gavin Newsom, or any of the other possible replacements. Biden had won in all 50 states and had won over 87% of the popular primary vote. This wasn’t last year or last election, this was a couple months ago.

But the goal is the same, as are the implications beneath. They, not you, decide who gets to be president and who gets dispatched to either a humiliating forced retirement or an early grave. Republican or Democrat, it doesn’t matter, and neither does your vote. Democrat voters would be wise to see that this is just as much a threat to their voting rights as it is to ours.
But they won’t. That’s fine. Par for the course. If this, like the assassination attempt, doesn’t open their eyes to the raw fact that the Left will hold on to power at all costs whatsoever, then nothing will. But from this point on, they have no authority whatsoever to preach about election interference. To the extent that they sincerely felt they held the moral high ground, they just unconditionally surrendered it for the entire world to see.
A theory occurs to me. I’m not sure how to weigh the possibility that it’s true.
Some commenters have theorized that the inter-Democratic-Party warfare we’ve seen over forcing Biden to quit the race is a fight between the Obama and Clinton factions of the party. I think this is wrong, because the Clintons no longer have any significant influence in the party, thanks to Hillary’s 2016 defeat.
Obama had unusually high party backing because he was a unity candidate between the insane (Marxist-infected social justice, etc.) and corrupt (via Chicago machine politics) wings of the party. Both Clintons were part of the corrupt wing, but were not central players in it until Bill’s ascension to the White House.
I think the recent events we’re seeing may not just be panic over polls, but the corrupt wing of the party (Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer) vetoing letting the insane Obama wing have a fourth term. Former Obama staffers have been the ones calling the shots in all policy positions in the Obama White House, and no doubt the social justice sorts have been sucking up a disproportionate share of the plum sinecures and flows of graft as well.
The Biden Administration playing footsie with Hamas may have been the last straw by wrecking Democrats’ ability to raise funds from their traditionally vital and generous Jewish donor base. This quick falling in line behind Harris may be a sign they’re no longer willing to let Obama call the shots, and are trying to prevent installation of Michelle Obama (no matter how popular she is with the rank and file) as the presidential nominee at the DNC.
Old line Democrats may feel (possibly correctly) that they can better survive Trump’s second administration than Obama’s fourth.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott’s strategy of bussing illegal aliens to sanctuary cities is having its desired effect, namely sharing the pain of the Biden Administration’s refusal to enforce border controls with the blue cities that encourage such behavior.
By declaring themselves a “sanctuary city,” New York brought this catastrophe on themselves. Here’s New York’s Democratic governor Kathy Hochul rhapsodizing about all those “benefits” illegal aliens would bring New York City:
As you know, the Statue of Liberty is inscribed. It says “Give me your tired, you’re poor, your huddled young [sic] masses yearning to be [sic] free/The wretched refuse to [sic] a teeming shore.” That statement encapsulizes our values. We want people to come here, despite where they came from from, where despite the circumstances that drove them to this country, into this state, we see, say, you are welcome here. We are welcome with open arms, and we’ll work to keep you safe. We’ll not only house you, but we’ll protect you. And the richness of the culture and the diversity and the food and the restaurants that we know are going to be coming, uh, because of these efforts are, are are beyond measure. It’s just, it’s an extraordinary part of our story and it’s woven into the story of New York and it makes us more vibrant.
That “vibrant” includes higher crime rates, soaring budgets and kicking Americans out of their schools and dwellings to make room for the illegal aliens Democrats are desperate to flood the country with. And since when did anyone, illegal alien or otherwise, have a right to free housing at the taxpayer’s expense?
So too says New York City Democratic mayor Eric Adams: “New York City is the welcoming mat for the entire globe.”
Nate the Lawyer: “So the city of New York wanted migrants? Texas and Arizona sent them migrants.”
Abbott: “It was just Texas and Arizona that bore the brunt of all of the chaos, and all the problems that come with it. Now the rest of America is understanding exactly what is going on.”
Nate the Lawyer: “So we’re all on the same page. New York: ‘We love migrants, we want migrants, we need migrants.’ Texas and Arizona: ‘We have millions of migrants, we’ll send them to you, then, since you want the migrants.’ And now all hell is broken loose in New York and they don’t want the migrants anymore.”
Adams has declared a state of emergency, saying the city is burning through $1 billion this fiscal year on illegal aliens, leaving no funding for other issues.”
Adams: “If these Trends continue we will be over 100,000 in the year.” Aw, you didn’t seem worried about millions flooding into Texas, but 100,000 arrive in the city you welcomed them into and it’s the end times.
Adams: “This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City.” Then shouldn’t you repeal the sanctuary city law?
Now Hochul is saying don’t come to New York City.
Nate the Lawyer: “New York City has decided to pass laws and regulations to close its own border to stop migrant buses from coming into the city and even going as far as to sue the bus companies to stop them from bringing migrants into the city.”
“Why is it good enough for New York to close their, border but not good enough for the country to close their border? It’s almost like they’re saying ‘We’re okay with the migrants coming into the country and being someone else’s problem but they can’t come to New York.” That’s exactly what they’re saying: “Illegal alien costs for thee, but not for me.”
Some weather discussion snipped.
They pushed illegal aliens into a school for shelter and sent the kids home. “That has a lot of parents fighting mad.”
Without schools as babysitters, parents have to stay home.
“Migrants are literally killing each other to stay in the shelters.”
“The immigration system is is destroyed it’s messed up, and I am extremely happy that the liberals in the Northeast are experiencing the fruits of their labor…They begged for migrants, they wanted migrants, and it was all great to have an open border policy when you didn’t have to pay for it. Now they have to pay for it.”
“I think that more and more and more migrants should go to New York, and then hopefully the Democrats will realize that, hey, just allowing millions of people to come across the border isn’t really a great idea, because we can’t take care of it.”
“And I also want to hammer home the point that it was all great when it was someone else’s problem, but it’s horror show, it’s a state of emergency, it’s immoral when it’s their problem.”
Always keeping in mind Instapundit’s “Don’t get cocky!” warning, there are a whole lot of signs that this year’s midterm is going to be another Republican wave election along the lines of 2010 or 2014.
Here are some signposts for the impending Red Tsunami:
Remember how Democrats crowed how Roe vs. Wade was going to doom Republican electoral chances? Yeah, not so much.
Republicans made massive gains with independent women in recent weeks as Democrats ramped up their messaging on abortion ahead of the midterm elections.
Forty-nine percent of voters plan to vote for the Republican nominee to represent their House district while 45 percent said theyâd back their Democratic opponent, according to a New York Times/Siena College poll released Monday. Of particular note was a 32 point swing among independent women toward the GOP. In Septemberâs iteration of the poll, Democrats boasted a 14 point lead among that demographic, but by October, Republicans held an 18 point advantage.
While Democratic officials and progressive commentators had suggested that the Supreme Courtâs overturning of Roe v. Wade might lessen the expected electoral blow of the midterms, the swing toward the GOP among independent women â the group most heavily targeted by Democratic strategists â suggests that their focus on abortion might be to their own detriment.
In a TV segment last month, Republican operative Matt Gorman was rebuked by his fellow panelists for suggesting that abortion âis not in the top four of issues.â
Yamiche Alcindor of PBS and NBC insisted that on the campaign trail âabortion comes up 90 percent of the timeâ when she speaks with voters. Claire McCaskill, a Missouri Democrat and former senator who lost her re-election bid in 2016, shouted over other guests to declare âI hope Matt keeps saying that everywhere he goes â that abortion isnât really an issue here in this election. I think it is exactly what infuriates women when they hear that.â
According to a study conducted by AdImpact, Democrats spent 73 million on messaging ads about abortion in September, which is âabout a third of all Democratic television ad spending,â per NPR.
Twenty-six percent of voters in the Times/Siena poll identified the economy as the most important issue facing the country today. That was followed by inflation (18 percent), other (9 percent), the state of democracy (8 percent), immigration and abortion (five percent apiece), and then political division (four percent).
Only 24 percent of voters said the country was on the right track, while 64 percent indicated the opposite. Democrats presently hold the White House and majorities in both chambers of Congress, and President Joe Bidenâs approval rating is nearly 20 points underwater.
So how do you explain a 32 point swing between two polls? A few possible answers: A.) Democrat’s loud, radical position on abortion is actually alienating independent women, B.) The crappy Biden economy is really starting to bite, or C.) Pollsters running biased polls to help Democrats simply stopped lying in order for their final electoral predictions to more closely match reality. Much as I’d like to believe A is the cause, I think C is the more likely culprit. Caveat: The sample was “792 likely voters nationwide,” which is a pretty damn small sample.
Democrats have no solutions to todayâs crime surge.
Hereâs how they shrug off the mayhem.
First: Deep denial.
Through Sept. 27, New Orleans suffered 208 homicides, up 44% versus that period in 2021 and 141% in 2019. The Crescent City has become Americaâs Murder Capital.
“I do not embrace that at all,” said Democratic Mayor La Toya Cantrell. “It isnât based on whatâs happening on the ground.” She later said that “our city is safer than itâs been in a long time.”
Crime books can be cooked: Curbing arrests can “erase” lawlessness by leaving it unrecorded. But thereâs no faking a cadaver. Regardless, Cantrell scoffs at humiliating police data.
Then there’s the revolving door for violent criminals Soros-backed Democrat DAs have instituted:
100% gun control would not have stopped David Jakubonis who, last July 21, confronted Zeldin on the hustings, shoved a sharp keychain weapon beside the candidate’s neck, and said: “Youâre done.”
Jakubonis was armed and threatened a congressman.
Regardless, he was free the next day before being arrested on federal charges.
Vincent Buccino savored pizza outside a Hellâs Kitchen eatery on Sept. 9.
An unprovoked attacker smashed a chair over his head and broke his arm.
The unidentified criminal remains at large.
Michael Palacios terrorized a Manhattan McDonaldâs on Sept. 16. After harassing patrons, he yanked an ax from his backpack, menaced diners, and chopped up a table, chairs, and glass wall. He, too, was arrested and swiftly sprung without bail.
Palacios was arrested again on Oct. 11, for alleged graffiti and bicycle theft.
Once more, Palacios was freed without bail.
And if you dare to notice this, Democrats will call you a racist. “Democrats shout, ‘Racism!’ as often as people exhale.”
In July 2021, House Bill 1054 took effect in the Evergreen State after being passed by the Democratic state legislature and signed by the Democratic governor over the objections of [Chelan County sheriff Brian Burnett] and state law-enforcement associations.
Before they can pursue a vehicle, the new law requires that officers ensure that four conditions have been met: (1) An officer must have either a reasonable suspicion a driver is impaired due to drugs or alcohol, or probable cause to believe that he has committed certain kinds of violent crimes or sex crimes; (2) pursuit must be necessary to identify or apprehend the suspect; (3) the driver must be an imminent threat to the safety of others such that the risks of not pursuing him outweigh the risks of pursuit; and (4) a supervisor has authorized pursuit.
Burnett told National Review that these restrictions represent a threat to public safety. Anecdotally, thatâs evidenced by Spitzerâs sojourn across the region and, statistically, itâs backed up by the data. Prior to HB 1054âs taking effect, the state recorded, on average, around 2,000 stolen vehicles per month. Since its passage, that figure has soared, reaching heights in excess of 4,000 per month.
âWhat weâre seeing on an average daily basis â whether itâs our jurisdiction or one of our neighboring jurisdictions â is thereâs people that donât stop for us all day long,â said Burnett. âIt can be anything from a stolen vehicle, to somebody that we have probable cause on, or just a basic traffic stop, and, you know, next thing on itâs pedal to the metal and theyâre off and running,â he continued.
Burnett and his fellow law-enforcement officials had foreseen these issues and lobbied against the bill, but he said lawmakers refused to take their concerns seriously.
âThe response early on â because we have a Democratic-controlled Senate and House, and itâs a fairly large margin there â it was almost to the point of, Iâll call it arrogance,â remembered Burnett. The message the legislature sent to the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs was: âWe donât need you, we donât need your opinion,â he added. âWe were begging them and telling them and giving them reasons why: âPlease donât do this, itâs bad, bad policy,ââ he said, but they ignored the pleas, because their majorities (57â41 in the House and 28â21 in the Senate) empower them to impose their will without compromise. But public opinion will probably assert itself eventually, given that crime is surging in the state: Washington set records for homicides in 2020 and then again 2021.
Democrats have a long history, stretching back at least into the 1970s, of soft-on-crime policies costing them elections. And Soros DAs intent on “bail reform” have made them even softer on crime than they were in the nadir of the 1970s.
The 40,000-foot view is bad enough, but it’s the steady drumbeat of discouraging race-by-race poll results that now has Democrats bracing for a punishing midterm.
In the battle to break the 50-50 tie in the Senate, Republicans have taken small leads in Wisconsin and Nevada, and Herschel Walker is still hanging around despite the October-surprise claims about his ex-girlfriend’s abortion. RealClearPolitics now puts Dr. Oz in the lead in Pennsylvania, after adjusting for historical polling errors, and projects a 52-48 GOP Senate majority.
In the House, counting “safe,” “likely” and “leans,” RealClearPolitics gives Republicans a 221-176 lead, with 38 more races considered toss-ups. In June, that outlet projected the GOP would gain 24.5 seats; now it forecasts a 27-seat pickup.
In reliably blue Oregon, a Republican is poised to take the governorship for the first time in 35 years. Michigan governor and lockdown enthusiast Gretchen Whitmer is up only now leading by just 5 points in the latest poll. Even the New York governor race has tightened up, with Quinnipiac putting Democrat Kathy Hochul up only 4 points — and independents breaking toward challenger Lee Zeldin 57% to 37%.
âI think we had three really good weeks in August that everybody patted themselves on the back,â an anonymous Democratic advisor to major donors tells Politico. âWe were like, âYeah, that should be enough to overcome two years of shitty everythingâ.â Now, he says, âItâs not looking great. The best we can hope for right now is a 50-50 Senate, but the House is long gone.â
Oddsmakers have similarly flipped red when it comes to the GOP’s chances of retaking the Senate, joining a longstanding bet that they’ll win control of the House.
Yes, Democrats “peaked” on election night in 2020 when they used massive voting fraud in a handful of districts to steal the election for Biden (along with a senate race or two) and then acted like they had a blowout mandate to impose social justice on the country.
The Democrat label is now toxic, and every time voters see Democrats speak, they seem to turn against them.
The Republican surge is animated by decisive debate victories on Friday in three key races: Georgia (Senate), Michigan (Governor), and Wisconsin (Governor). Georgia had been trending Democrat before the debate under the weight of Hershel Walker’s scandals, but likely no more.
Tudor Dixon, the Republican candidate for Governor of Michigan, seemed like a hopeless case, but now, on the strength of a decisive win in her debate with incumbent Democrat Gretchen Whitmer the race seems winnable. The Republican Governor’s Association, after waiting to commit, now is pumping millions into her campaign. Responding to Dixon’s surge, former president Obama has announced plans to campaign against her in Michigan.
And, in Wisconsin, Republican Tim Michaels clearly defeated a largely passive and obviously aging Democratic governor Tony Evers.
Walker was supposed to lose the debate because, as a football hero, he’s not necessarily very articulate. Coming up against an experienced pastor, Senator Raphael Warnock’s chances seemed dim. But Walker surprised everyone with a strong performance. Whatever the issue he pivoted to bring it back to inflation and Joe Biden. Surprisingly, on abortion he indicated new flexibility and backed it in cases of rape or a danger to the life of the mother. But, above all he seemed to have mastered his new trade of politics and was able to spar with the best of them.
The most important debate will come next week in Pennsylvania Senate race between Dr. Oz and stroke-impaired John Fetterman on October 25th. Fetterman won’t release his medical records and recent on camera interviews indicate that he mispronounces words and cannot easily understand what he hears unless it is printed out in front of him.
Whatever his medical prognosis, he cannot recover from his radical positions on pardoning and releasing one in three Pennsylvania prison inmates and on defunding the police.
Other than the Oz-Fetterman race, we now lead in all contests for seats currently held by the Republicans. North Carolina is close but Ted Budd holds a consistent lead. And, despite a less than stellar debate performance, JD Vance is ahead in Ohio.
“Every debate has tanked the Democrat in the polls.”
Things are so bad that Democrats are shifting money from safe seats to really safe seats.
Some âsafe seatsâ arenât very safe anymore for suddenly vulnerable Democrats, and that has panicked PACs moving campaign dollars to protect previously invulnerable seats.
Weâre down to the wire in Election 2022, and stuff just got real.
Todayâs news takes us to deep blue Oregon, where onetime shoo-in Kurt Schrader just got the rug pulled out from under him by his own Democrat Party as he fights off Republican Amy Ryan Courser. According to AdImpact (as spotted by Josh Kraushaar), party ad spending for Schrader in the 5th district was shifted to the 6th to boost Andrea Salinas against Republican Mike Erickson. [As noted in the comments below, Jamie McLeod-Skinner defeated Rep. Kurt Schrader in the Democratic Primary. -LP]
Maybe youâre thinking this kind of thing happens all the time, and it does.
But it doesnât often happen that Democrats appear to be writing off a district that Presidentish Joe Biden won in 2020 by nine points, to shore up a district that Biden won by 13 points.
If 10-and-up is the Democratsâ new firewall, theyâre in bigger trouble than even I imagined. Complicating things even more for Oregon Democrats, gubernatorial candidate Tina Kotek (looking to replace the outgoing and execrable Kate Brown) regularly polls behind Republican Christine Drazan.
Stephen Green notes that Oregon may be a special case because “Portland has served as Ground Zero for some of the craziest progressive ideas being put into terrible practice.” Wait, turning your city over to Antifa for endless riots isn’t popular with voters? Who knew?
You know who else thinks Democrats have gone to far pushing social justice? Would you believe the Lightbringer himself?
Former President Barack Obama slammed Democrats in a recent podcast, calling them “buzzkills” whose identity politics and cancel culture rhetoric force people to “walk on eggshells.”
Speaking with four of his former employees on the Pod Save America podcast, the former prez said that his fellow Democrats need to tone it down and understand that everyone makes mistakes, the Daily Mail reports.
“Sometimes Democrats are [buzzkills]. Sometimes people just want to not feel as if they are walking on eggshells, and they want some acknowledgment that life is messy and that all of us, at any given moment, can say things the wrong way, make mistakes,” he said, adding that Democrats should learn from he felt were his mistakes as president.
What does it say when the biggest beneficiary of white guilt and victimhood identity politics in political history says that Democrats have gone too far in that direction?
A sane party might be inclined to listen to him.
But the Democratic Party hasn’t been sane in a long, long time…
